As a former Republican, I and many other good Republicans witnessed the transformation our party of decency to something that Adolf Hitler would envy.

Once, it was the party of down to earth practical businessmen that had firm beliefs rooted in good values and the US Constitution. We believed that recourses should not be wasted, government and taxes should be small, people should be allowed to proper and we cared for our communities and our country.

The current version is a Frankenstein Republican Party. A Hodge Podge mixture of evil and corruption, big government, cronyism, theft, deception, deceit, treason, and murder. It is a bizarre situation, were true Patriots are accused of treasonous America-bashing for pointing out the obvious. The occupiers of the White House have stolen their way into power disguised as Republicans and using mass voting manipulation.

Neoconservatives have turned the Republican Party into a Brownshirt Party.
Look at the evidence. While real patriots flee the party, the remaining supporters cling to power by asserting dictatorial dominance for President Bush. The Republican Attorney General denies that the US Constitution provides habeas corpus protection to American citizens. Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney, Republican candidates for the 2008 presidential campaign, believe the president has the power to imprison US citizens indefinitely without warrants or trials. The "conservative" Federalist Society favors concentrating more power in the executive. Neoconservative ideologues claim the right to impose American hegemony over all others—especially over Muslims.

Actually, it would be a misnomer to call the neocons "brown-shirts". Hitler's brown-shirts and the other right-wing paramilitary organizations of the day, like the "Steel-Helmets", used truncheons, saps, knuckle-dusters, cudgels, knives and guns to enforce their nationalist political will on the streets with brute force. If you didn't look "German" or were suspected of being a communist or socialist, you were likely in for a beating which you would be lucky to emerge from alive. These thugs made the neocons looked like the limp-wristed milque-toasts that they are.

The neocons lack the courage to actually take their nationalistic, jingoistic ideology to the streets as they would likely be, at best, ignored. At worst, they would beaten senseless if they tried the strong arm-tactics of the brown-shirts. Theirs is a more subtle campaign. Having mastered the lessons of Joseph Goebbels' "Big Lie", they prefer to poison the national debate with divisiveness and false issue that detract from the real issues. But even that is wearing thin in this day and age, where the lies they promulgate are to easily fact-checked and dismissed for the crap they are.

As an anti Bush/Fourth Reich activist, I have attended rallies/protests. I have witnessed instigators of violence that tried and failed to incite vandalism an violence. These instigators were undercover law enforcement personnel.

The word is out and most people will ignore these assholes, and some of us will confront them and expose them. They incite vandalism and violence as a tool to be used against the demonstrators and as an excuse to attack peaceful demonstrators.

Your second is the pot calling the kettle black; especially, where the dissemination of the "Big Lie" is concerned.

ANY extremists, regardless which political ideology they claim, who try to use violence as a means to forcefeed their message should be beaten soundly by anyone capapble of rational thought, regardless THEIR political ideology.

I do believe Paul once wrote (on another borad) Pres Bush had concentration camps being built in the desert to silence anyone who speaks out against Pres Bush and the war

I agree with your closing thoughts, but your second paragraph is somewhat misleading. It is the Bush administration which mislead this nation into the invasion of Iraq...It was, and is, the Bush administration that continues to insist that "progress" is being made in Iraq, despite the evidence to the contrary...It was, and is, the Bush administration that conflates Iraq with al Qaeda in a attempt to justify the continued quagmire in Iraq...Need I go on? There are so many more.
