We've all heard of Kurt Warner, but how about Michael Lewis? His story is more remarkable than Warner's. Flemlo usually reports on the downfall of former NFLers, but this one is a success story, a guy who didn't even play in college but did in every semi-pro league out there. He and Warner also both played in NFL Europe.

Other than a few skill positions, the NFL is the only professional sport that doesn`t require experience. A Pitt basketball star would hide when he saw the football coach coming to pester him about playing football. Sam Clancy wound up playing professional football for 13 years.

Defensive tackle Eric Swann is another one that never played college football. He was drafted #6 overall by the Arizona Cardinals back in '91 and played 10 seasons, making the All-Pro team a couple of times.

But Michael Lewis's story is quite different and shows much more perseverance. Going from flag-football to semi-pro to arena-league to Europe league to NFL is remarkable. Great story.
