Just look at what progressives have done to our education system. Like everything else progressivism touches - it has destroyed education.
  • Less than 50% (of youngsters between 18 and 24 years of age polled by National Geographic and Roper Public Affairs) could identify New York and Ohio on a U.S. map
  • 60% could not find Iraq or Saudi Arabia on a map of the Middle East
  • 75% could not find Iran or Israel
  • 44% could not locate even one of those four countries.
According to a Philadelphia magazine article:
  • The percentage of college grads who can read and interpret a food label has fallen from 40% to 30%
  • They are 6x's likelier to know who won “American Idol” than they are to know the name of the speaker of the House
  • A high school teacher in California handed out an assignment that required students to use a ruler. Not a single student knew how
According to a study done by the American Institutes for Research:
  • Revealed over 75% of two-year college students and 50% of four-year college students were incapable of completing everyday tasks.
  • About 20% of four-year college students demonstrated only basic mathematical ability
  • While a steeper 30% of two-year college students could not progress past elementary arithmetic
NBC News reported:
  • Fortune 500 companies spend about $3 billion annually to train employees in “basic English.”
Reported by Just Facts:
  • In 2009, the Pentagon estimated that 65% of 17- to 24-year-olds in the U.S. were unqualified for military service because of weak educational skills, poor physical fitness, illegal drug usage, medical conditions, or criminal records.
  • In January 2014, the commander of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command estimated this figure at 77.5%
  • And in June 2014, the Department of Defense estimated this figure at 71%.

And, exactly how are those fiendish 'progressives' responsible for this deplorable state of affairs?
My 18-year-old daughter learned, from her middle-aged preschool teacher, that the word 'anythink' was real.
This teacher was educated in the fifties. Are 'progressives' responsible for her deplorable command of the language?

Like most 'conservatives', you seem to think that every bad aspect of our society can automatically be attributed to liberals.

It pretty much can. Progressives are all about limiting choice (which restricts competition which yields lower results), indoctrinating youth, and putting their agenda above their primary purpose.

Is that what you're suffering from? I hope it's not terminal.

Are you a real patriot, or a nationalist? You conservatives confuse the two all the time.

And you didn't even touch on History and Science. They are so easily duped into believing the 19th century Marxist rhetoric which has resulted in hundreds of millions of deaths when practiced throughout the past 150 years. When you try and explain this to them, they simply don't believe you.

They've never studied about the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks. They have no idea that their very same "1% vs 99%" class warfare arguments were made by Chairman Mao and sparked a people's revolution which ended with the deaths of over 70 million and plunged China into economic and social darkness for 40 years.

Their understanding of Science leads them to believe man is capable of radically changing the climate and living human fetuses are "clumps of cells" and not human life. You patiently try to explain these things to them and they laugh and wave their liberal arts degree in your face... a degree they took out a massive student loan to pay for and now think should be excused because that's "social justice!"

All of those Trump supporters, who are mostly older people, aren't looking too intelligent themselves

There's is nothing more terminal than progressivism. It kills everything it touches.

Way to avoid all of those pesky little facts filled with data from studies. And for the record - I am a constitutional conservative. Liberty. Choice. Freedom. Individual.
