Texas explained clearly

The Texas state legislature must have some real morons for representatives. They had all the tools not to have this happen, knew how to do it, and then didn't allow the Democrats to flee as the hypocrites they are. I do have a friend in the Texas legislature, Tony Tinderholdt, so I should ask him how they dropped the ball so hard.

Should be an even playing field. Democrats are always about doing things and then complaining when Republicans do the very same things. So, yes, since democrats have gerrymandered the system, Republicans should be allowed to even it up. Then we can stop gerrymandering once everything has become even.
I don't share your party prejudice, and the old "Two wrongs don't make a right" principle applies.

Neither party should be allowed to wantonly gerrymander in any state. Standards should be agreed upon and universally applied.

As for Texas where Democrats are already under-represented, compounding the problem because of a perceived inequality somewhere else doesn't work for me.

Typical democrat BS. You want to do things and then refuse the other side to do the same things. You weaponize law enforcement against your enemies but then you don't want them to do it to you. You gerrymander the hell out of your states but then you don't want the other side to gerrymander. **** you.

My question is, has Abbot started the procedure to start removing those members for abandoning their seats?

You are confused,

I oppose gerrymandering by either party, and have never suggested otherwise.

Worst Cases of Gerrymandering:

Then we can let Republicans make up what Democrats took away and then, after that, we can play fair.

As documented, both parties have engaged in egregious gerrymandering,

More gerrymandering is not the answer.

Texas has already been gerrymandered to deprive Democrats of representation.

Under the current Texas congressional map, Republicans already win 25 of 38 congressional districts—two-thirds of seats.
That’s a sizable advantage in a state where Republicans don’t get nearly that share of the vote—Ted Cruz running for re-election in 2024 got just barely 53 percent of the vote. And none of the GOP seats were competitive in 2024.
But now, despite having gotten a map that works pretty darn well for them, Republicans’ plan seems to be to try to squeeze five more GOP seats out of Texas. That would give Republicans an astonishing 80 percent of Texas’s congressional delegation. By the very rationale that Republicans used in 2003 to redraw the map, its Democrats who are unfairly under-represented.
