Zone1 So you think God loves you

OK, Church Lady

As you may realize in your more lucid moments, assuming you have any,

"things" applies to "things" that are not actually things...
Not sure you're as religious as you think you are.
Might want to check that holier than thou attitude.
If you know Jesus as much as you think you do. You would
know that it's not up to us to judge, it's up to God. :eusa_whistle:

at #260 (when Pius XII died)

True story, though few know this

I can't answer all questions about God. BUt I can answer questions on Catholicism because I, unlike 98% of people here have studied it in depth. I've also studied history of Christianity. Maybe you noticed that I already said that the Catholic religion came to us in the FIRST century with the 12 apostles (or more accurately, when Jesus ascended into Heaven and sent the Holy Spirit).

Protestant religions came along MUCH later
Both are Christianity, so they are not different religions. Protestantism was founded as a reaction to the corruption rampant in the Catholic Church at the time. It is telling that, instead of reforming when presented with the truth of the Word and conviction of the Spirit, the CC attempted to end Protestants violently. The Catholic Church at the time of the Reformation bore little to no resemblance to the Church Christ founded.

I don't think religion is very important, that's all.
Babble on....
It's like Padre Pio said when someone in confession told him he didn't believe in Hell

Pio said

"You'll believe when you get there"

I knew a lady that prayed for a car when the one she had went klunker. Well, she got one and said He answered her prayers though she went out, picked the car, gave them a down payment and made monthly payments.

I didn't get it.
Right. God only gives people such gifts if they sit on their hands and wait for it to fall out of the sky

gently, of course, since if the car fell from too far, it wouldn't be such a blessing, would it? lol

Well, I can assure you that God has a completely different notion on what LOVE is than you do. That's because I have learned a lot in my time on Planet E, plus I have read God's Word (over and over) and been in HIS Church (He founded only one).

If you think "love" is being given everything you want (in this life), you are delusional and headed for major disappointment and heartache--maybe even Hell. Jesus says in so many words that most people end up there! If you don't get what you want from Him asap, you will find yourself very angry with God, assuming that hasn't happened yet, and if you stay ticked until you die... Hell awaits.

We've all prayed for things that God never gave us.

My parents never gave me anything, at least once I left home. Then there are parents who give their little spoiled darlings "everything"--and wonder why they turn out to be hedonistic, narcissist sociopaths only concerned with Numero Uno.

So yeh... maybe it's time to discover how God loves.. and go with that option.
G-d will avenge those who committed harm and evil to the innocent.
Deuteronomy 32:35- "Revenge is mine, and I will repay them in due time, that their foot may slide: the day of destruction is at hand, and the time makes haste to come"

In the meantime, a citizen should be free to achieve and succeed on their own merit, not with evil and cowardly men interfering in that pursuit.

Those who prevent the liberty of man to pursue happiness will own the consequences. G-d must ensure those consequences reverberate so that enough people realize the cause and effect.

OK, great, but I don't get your main point or how your words here relate to those of the OP

Here is the problem:

God loves you

But He despises your sins

and you refuse to give them up

And due to the fact God gives us all free will

He lets you do that...

However, you have CHOICE until the very end... The Choice to find truth and live by it

or to ignore it... It's all on you.

OK, great, but I don't get your main point or how your words here relate to those of the OP
Of course it does. Man will get what their success should grant them. You don't pray to G-d for anything specific, you pray for freedom, for his Commands to be honored by other mean.

If not, other men will play G-d and persecute others and deny them their G-d given right to achieve.

This is the core of Communism and it is where much of the West is headed. America must NOT, now or EVER kneel to these heathen ideologues.

I will address the parts of this that I truly get:

When I said people don't get what they pray for (all the time) I meant Even when they pray for something that God presumably wants them to have. I mean, God wants us to have power over our evil inclinations, for example, but He doesn't even seem to give that at ALL times... That's likely because He wants us to CHOOSE such time and time again, and so we suspect He is testing us, to see if we really want to overcome our worst sins...

And there was something else, but I'll leave it at that...

Trump saved us from virtual communism. I am very afraid, however, for the times in the future when we will not have a man like Trump... and you have to admit there are FEW like him.... so very few.

:(

What is the "something else"?

So, prove these 12 apostles weren't either fake or con artists.
I don't have to prove anything.

We have the internet, we have books... we have Jesus telling us Seek and you will find..

so go with that

What is the "something else"?
You said we don't pray for specifics. Well, I say we should pray for whatever we think we need (not want). If we don't get it, we can just shrug our shoulders and say it is not God's will. .. as opposed to getting ticked off and telling Him we don't believe in Him anymore or that sort of thing. Or maybe it is not the right time for us to have it...

There is nothing wrong with praying for anything at all.... unless you are praying for something evil.

How do you know God founded only one church?
Because he started in California and permits to build anything there is a nightmare because they are all a bunch of environmantalist wackos. One was all he could get.

Catholicism, the only one that can be traced back to the FIRST century.

Luther, Father of Protestantism, came along in the 16th century... a tad late, I'd say...
The church existed hundreds of years before the coming of the Catholic church inside the homes of private individuals.

The Church, like the kingdom of God Jesus described, are followers of his.
