No words are needed

Except to keep the gods on Mt Olympus happy

When I saw “adagio” I thought it was this one

/----/ Some of the saddest songs ever include “Hurt” by Johnny Cash, “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton, and “Monsters” by James Blunt, each capturing profound grief and loss.
Classic Sad Songs
“Hurt” – Johnny Cash: A haunting cover of Nine Inch Nails, Cash’s version conveys deep regret and reflection near the end of his life, making it profoundly emotional.

“Tears in Heaven” – Eric Clapton: Written after the tragic death of his son, this song is a raw expression of grief and loss.

“I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” – Hank Williams: A timeless country ballad that captures loneliness and heartbreak.

“Strange Fruit” – Billie Holiday: A powerful and somber song addressing racial violence, evoking sorrow and reflection.

I see your Adagio and present for your consideration Lacrimosa by Mozart from his "Requiem", said to have been written for his own impending death

I like this version better:

Plus the Strawberry Blonde is to die for. ;)

The first time I heard this music I was driving my car and listening to WRR on the radio

I knew, or at least I felt, that it was written for someone who died that the composer loved very much

To me this is the newest of the sad songs written by the singer.

God bless you and John always!!!

Holly

Belinda Carlisle's Summer Rain
Chris LeDoux's Silence On The Line
George Jones' He Stopped Loving Her Today
Garth Brooks' The Beaches Of Cheyenne

Whitney Houston does a soulful rendition of I Will Always Love You, but Dolly wrote it and sang it and either of these fine women's versions are very moving, to me.

Hey, you got Dolly in there! But, it's her Coat of Many Colors that still gets something in my eye.
