Senate Republicans block bipartisan border package.

Apparently Republicans need for election issue exceeds the need for any substantial improvement of our nation's, (i.e. including Republicans') quandary of what should be done on our national borders? Respectfully, Supposn

“Senate Republicans block bipartisan border package, scuttling deal they had demanded from Democrats …by Stephen Groves and Mary Clare Jalonick, , [Associated Press writer Seung Min Kim contributed to this report] ... Updated 6:21 PM EST, February 7, 2024. Washington (AP) - Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan border package Wednesday, scuttling months of negotiations with Democrats on legislation intended to cut back record numbers of illegal border crossings. …

… In a speech on the Senate floor just before the vote, Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma, who crafted the proposal, said that it was a chance for the Senate to decide “if we’re going to do nothing, or something.”
“It’s an issue that’s bedeviled, quite frankly, this body for decades,” Lankford said. “It’s been three decades since we’ve passed anything into law to be able to change border security.”
Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona blamed Republicans for not giving the bill a chance. “Finally, it seemed, we had the opportunity to solve the nightmare my state has lived for over 40 years,” she said, scolding Republicans for using the border for “campaign photo ops,” but rejecting the chance to enact law.
“Turns out they want all talk and no action,” she said. “It turns out border security is not a risk to our national security. It’s just a talking point for the election”. ...
… Four Republicans voted to move forward with the legislation and six Democrats voted against it, some of whom said the border compromise went too far”.

Secure the Border Act of 2023
This bill makes various changes to immigration law, including by imposing limits on asylum eligibility and requiring employers to use an electronic system to verify the employment eligibility of new employees.
DIVISION A--BORDER SECURITY
This division requires certain actions related to border security.
MSN
In a recent Senate Democratic leadership press briefing, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) took a strong stance, stating that he would not pass HR2 to secure a supplemental aid package.

As negotiations unfold, Schumer addressed key concerns, including the timeline, funding allocations, and the delicate balance between bipartisan cooperation and internal Democratic differences.
Fuck all you motherfuckers who said, that the Republicans dont want to secure the border, while Up Chuck Schumer who kept this political, is holding up an actual border bill to prevent diseased illegals from coming into America to harm US citizens. May a diseased illegal grab your purse and drag you into a bike rack.

Vote for Democrats, this is what will happen to you. Justice is served to dumbass Joe Biteme voters.

A prog slave theory "It must first get really hot up in the Arctic Circle so all that ice can melt, then the cooling air from the ice, moves down into the hot areas to cool that area. Insanity, prog slaves are just fucking inane.

It wasn't a border security bill ... more like a border bill with fluff that would put thresholds on the number of average weekly illegals crossing the border (5000+) with a limited window to enforce security. It also grants the power to expedite the path to citizenship for illegals that cross, catch and release and large sums of foreign aid for Gaza.

A border security bill would lock down the border to prevent / discourage illegal aliens from crossing into the United States, deport illegals that have made it across and stop using the lame asylum process.

Thief in Chief Biden and the Dems have no use for border security until election time. They and inside DC GOP want open borders totally.

That bullshit was as much bipartisan and the J6 committee. Two rinos don't make a bill bipartisan.

.

What great effort was the Biden administration taking in the last three years to deal with the border crisis? Lets see he ended border wall construction and remain in Mexico he reinstated catch and release. He made Kamala the border czar and she was going to get to the root cause of the problem I have not heard any conclusions or solutions on that front from her. As the problem got worse and worse all we heard from the administration was the border was secure and under control. Biden and the Democrats were not concerned about the border until it finally hit them this is an election year this is a major issue with the voters and our polling numbers on the issue suck.
