I'm an atheist. There is no God, and trying to find meaning in Bronze Age superstitions is pointless.

We don't need reparations. We need to fix what is wrong in that community and the society. We need to fix education. We need to fix that 65% of black kids are born out of wedlock. We need to fix subtle racism in hiring.

Paying every black person $20,000 will take care of them for about a year. (This is what Japanese Americans were paid in the 1980's for their internment). It doesn't fix that a resume with a name like "Jamal Washington" is going to get hired long after "Gregory Smith".

And if descendants of confederate soldiers who were not alive when the civil war was fought can get reparations from 1958 until 2017-18 why can't blacks get reparations? The hypocrisy in the opposition to this is apparent.
