I am glad that you are now taking this conversation to a debate format (not just throwing opinions out there).
Your article says the following:
This chaos is also imposing record costs on Americans. Last year, FAIR published a report entitled the Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers. The study strives to illustrate the myriad of ways Americans pay for illegal immigration. Our estimate, which is a conservative one, is that Americans now pay $150.7 billion dollars annually due to illegal immigration. This figure represents a net cost. In terms of gross expenditures due to illegal immigration, we estimate that Americans pay $182 billion. Approximately $31 billion is received from illegal aliens in taxes, only 17 percent of the costs they create.
Okay, there is a high expense involved but to begin with, some expense will forever occur given that the world has an overpopulation that keeps on increasing and stopping all illegal immigration is not possible (no nation has been able to do it) while hunger, need to get away from oppressive governments where they and their families face death, and pure survival continues to happen.
In addition:
Under his second administration, President Trump has authorized approximately $170.1 billion in new funding for immigration enforcement and mass deportation efforts through the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA) signed in July 2025. T
This means that Trump himself has now doubled the cost of getting rid of illegal immigration.
To all of this, I have stated that I am against criminals coming here and have also stated that what I am for is illegal immigrants that have requested asylum and that such action is to be decided by the courts, as the illegal immigrants that get to stay here. That is less than 20% of those that go through the legal process.
As such, your article loses much of its value given that what I have suggested will keep the costs lower than what the article stated and even more keep the costs down to the additional costs that Trump's anger and incompetence have brought upon us.
Nothing is ever perfect. Learn to live with that reality!
