I don't like it, and really it was not always like that at all.
This is something that has changed in my lifetime. It started in earnest in about the mid-1990s.

I was just reading parts of the FCC broadcasting licenses the other day and it clearly states they can't report news which they know is not truthful and basically can't report with an obvious bias (can't remember the exact wording).

I agree that we had a media that we could place a modicum of trust in for most of our history, but journalistic integrity has had its ebbs and flows at various times--most notably a little over a hundred years ago when the oligarchs of the time--Hearsts, Pulitzers etc controlled the media and presided over the period of Yellow journalism. You're 100% correct that we have never experienced the likes of what we are seeing today.

I remember when the old school democrats pushed for fair coverage in the MSM when the GOP was the establishment party. The democrats went after bad companies that polluted, the pharmaceutical companies, the big banks, big agrofood and fought to get coverage on the news. Then the democrats abandoned their old ways and became the modern dumocraps and the establishment party. Now they wouldn't dare go after Monsanto, or Wall St., or Big Pharma. Now they protect those Big Money corporations.
