In your head
With all of the bans on plastic straws and plastic grocery bags on the left coast, I can't help but wonder

So let me get this straight. I go to the grocery store and buy a lb. of sliced ham wrapped in plastic, a loaf of bread in a plastic bag, a gallon of milk in a plastic jug, a pack of napkins wrapped in plastic, a Greek salad in a plastic container, a plastic bottle of mustard and a plastic bottle of ketchup, and they won’t give me a plastic bag to carry it home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment?

hey won’t give me a plastic bag to carry it home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment?

But ... they will SELL you a plastic bag because, apparently, plastic you have to pay for is OK for the environment.

You have to admit, charging people for plastic bags (that have traditionally been free) is a great idea and worth billions to the grocery industry. But, doing it in the name of the environment so that you can shame anyone who questions the extra charges is a once-in-a-century brilliant idea.

Whomever came up with that idea should get the Nobel Prize in Economics.

Got into this discussion with a lefty grocery clerk the other day. WA charges 8 cents per bag that you use of the grocery stores. However, if you bring your own bag, they give you a nickel credit on your purchase. I remarked that I didn't want to pay (Gov.) Inslee's tax and he replied, Inslee doesn't get the money. (No duh, he signed it into law though). I commented that I would like to see fully recyclable, biodegradeable paper bags used and he said, "But then you are cutting down the forests." This guy is in WA very near to multiple mills that produce lumber and either use the waste to produce energy or paper. These morons are why we are in the shape as a country that we are.

A couple of years ago our county commies outlawed plastic bags. When covid hit, they removed the ban because they claimed cloth bags were dirty and hold in bacteria and germs. A few months ago our grocery store (Giant Eagle) removed plastic bags in our county only. Now wait a minute: They lifted the ban claiming that cloth bags are dirty and disgusting, and now that covid is virtually over, you want us to use these bacteria filled bags for groceries so you can feel good about saving the planet?

When we say these people are whakos, it's more than just an opinion. They prove they are whackos in everything they say and do.

About 40 miles away in ID, there is a DQ with a message squarely aimed at WA. Their marquee says, "Free straw with every drink purchase" LOL

Next thing you know, people will be selling water!

Next thing you know, people will be selling water!

The Chinese have bought nearly 200,000 acres of our farmland to the day, and they are turning them into pot farms. Bill Gates is up to about 225,000 acres of farmland, a businessman who is convinced we are destroying the planet by eating meat such as beef and hogs.

Don't worry about them trying to sell water, they've been selling water for the last few decades. Worry about some selling food because the climate nuts are going to try and starve us with their vegetables only country.

And plastic don’t break
You never have to pick up glass shards

Jesus. Please delete this thread. Don't give them any ideas. It is rather quite hilarious though how they think they are fighting climate change. And, it's also funny how they wanted to quit paper bags to save the environment so they came up with plastic bags to save the environment. Just read the other day that China is making another huge coal plant so thank God lefties are getting rid of plastic grocery bags to make up the difference.

I was watching the news last week when they reported Dementia got Saudi Arabia to start pumping more oil; oil that we should be pumping out here at home.

When it comes to energy extraction and refining, the US is the cleanest in the world. So get a country that does it dirtier than we do and tell your constituents you're saving the planet by us not pumping oil. The two words you can never associate together is Democrats and logic.

Yes. The left are so gullible that they honestly believe we will save the planet if we get all of the US to quit producing oil and gas and then begging other countries to do it for us, at a steep cost to us. The lefties can then proudly proclaim that the US is doing our part to save planet. Meanwhile, things will actually be worse than they were before because, as you said, the other countries do it dirtier than we do. But, we will be leading the way in saving our planet. This is a great thread.

I don't know where you shop but they seem to give more plastic bags out at Walmart than they need to. Ditto Food Lion and Krogers.

The real scandal is that all those companies making plastic containers never paid a cent for cleaning up the consequences of all the money they made. Apparently, no one thought to place some kind of payment per unit at production for recuperation of the waste. In other words, capitalist for the profits, socialist for the losses.

If animal farting contributes to global warming then there is only one solution. We cull all animals. Animals for food, milk, and even your pet Fido and Fluffy. Everything that farts, uses up oxygen, and spews CO2 into the atmosphere must go. Oh, wait a minute............................................. I may need to rethink that.

I know you meant that as a joke but I bet that's on half of their minds.
