Actually the media outlets don't make that much money. The real cronies and oligarchs of the country pay the media to broadcast whatever the fuck they want. The money they pay them with far outweighs any money made legitimately in the media industry. At least 2x more. That's why you see drug commercials all the time.
They're not even really trying to sell you the drugs, they're buying what's on the air when it's not the drug commercials.
