You have a point about Cassidy having sworn under oath and no one having contradicted her under oath as of yet. If no one ever does swear under oath that she is wrong, your point will be strengthened.
It is weakened by the fact that the committee could have called the agents at any time. I read on here, but could not find in the news, that those agents have already been questioned behind closed doors. If their stories are the same as Cassidy's, why not call them for a first hand account of Trump battling the Secret Service guys?
Why are they questioning people behind closed doors in the first place, if their goal is to get out the truth? Why did they question Cassidy in four different sessions before they allowed her to speak in public?
Doesn't pass the smell test.
Because the point of her testimony isn't that Trump tried to force the Secret Service to drive him to the Capitol. The point is that Donald Trump knows damn well that he lost the election, and he knew what he was doing was illegal, and he did it anyway, because he was so desperate to cling to power by any means necessary
Trump sent any angry, armed mob to the Capitol to kill senior members of the government, and he wanted to go and lead them in the insurrection. And his behaviour that day was desperate and quite crazy.
Every Committee obtains witness testimony behind closed doors because they need to know who's testimony is relevant. Witnesses with truly relevant testimony are invited back for a live session, but Trump's top advisors have all declined and with good reason - they all have significant criminal exposure. Given what the Committee now knows about January 6th, they'd have to be crazy to come back.
Cassidy Hutchison's attorney was being paid for by Donald Trump, when she first appeared before the Committee. When she finished with her testimony, she told friends that she had more to tell the Committee, and she fired the Trump lawyers, and got an independent attorney, for this last appearance before the Committee. She has been receiving threats from MAGA World since she fired the Trump attorney.
Trump has been paying the legal fees of at least a dozen staffers appearing before the Committee. I'm firmly of the belief that the guy who is paying the bill is going to get more protection than the person he was supposed to be working for will get.
The Committee is looking into witness tampering by Trump's staffers, and Cassidy Hutchinson is now receiving protection. Just like every other person Donald Trump names and attacks. Lisa Page, the Squad, Michael Cohen, Dr. Faucci, those election workers in Pennsylvannia. He's like a mob boss putting out hits on people, and his Cult goes after these people and ruins their lives.
Trump has been promoting violence since his first rallies where he offered to pay the legal fees of anyone arrested for beating up protestors, and his loyal followers have been taking him at his word ever since.
