Even when police approach a vehicle in broad daylight after stopping the car and calling in the license plate, they approach the car with their hand on their firearm. In our historical past, law enforcement would use their authority to deny or disparage blacks their due process in legal venues. Is it any wonder why some blacks don't trust law enforcement.

When a police officer pulls you over, you don't assume you didn't do anything wrong and therefore disobey their orders. You pull over, do what they tell you to do, and they'll explain why they pulled you over. If you're going to act like an asshole, they're going to treat you like an asshole.

Loser pays the legal fees is the law in many states. And so what?

The reason lawsuits don’t change the way police behave is because the cops don’t pay. The city does. Hence the politics. When someone else is responsible for your mistakes they get to make the rules.

At my job. If I screw up and damage property or injure someone my boss has to pay the lawsuit. My boss consequently gets to decide how I am supposed to do my job. He is responsible for any damage I do.

You call it politics. But in reality it is the only way it works unless you individually will be responsible for any mistakes you make. If the individual cop is going to be held responsible individually then he gets to decide what and how he does things.

Doctors are limited in the types of care they can provide by insurance companies that pay their malpractice settlements.

Car drivers are limited. Their insurance won’t cover them if they say the car won’t be used for work and they crash delivering pizza.

But when it comes to cops it is outrageous.

So in your theoretically perfect country. Will you have cops held individually responsible for any wrongdoing? If the jury finds against them will the cop pay or the city? If you say city than you have exactly the same situation you decry right now.

If you say the cops, you are a radical expecting under paid and overworked cops to have to purchase insurance to protect themselves from lawsuits.

So what say you? City pays and political interference? Or cops pay and the first lawsuit bankrupts them?

There is no loser pays all in any state. You can sue back and try to reclaim your losses, but it will probably cost you more to do that than just pay the losses yourself.

It's unfortunate our Democrat party gets big bucks from trial lawyers at election time, and many reps on both sides were layers, but if we had a national loser pays all law, it would stop this lawsuit and hundreds of thousands like it.

In our country we have ambulance chasers. They are willing to do the work and get paid only if you win. So it costs you nothing to let them do their thing and if you lose, only the lawyer loses time and money. It doesn't cost you a dime. However if that lawyer lost the case and you had to come up with the $50,000 or more to repay the person or people you tried to sue, you'd tell that ambulance chaser to go beat a salt bag.

You see we keep giving in to these POS when they file a lawsuit because of all the litigation expenses involved. This officer did nothing wrong. I've seen similar situations many times with police officers around the country. So if we had a loser pays all law, they don't have to worry about the litigation costs because it will be reclaimed after the city wins the suit. We could stop most if not all these assholes from filing phony lawsuits.

Now you brought up what a doctor is restricted to according to their malpractice insurance. Another problem that adds great expense to our healthcare. Same deal. Most lawsuits against doctors, nurses and various other medical professions fail So why do they keep filing them? Ambulance chasers. Years ago you seen your doctor for any ailment and he treated that ailment unless it was out of his league. Today, your family doctor is nothing but a referral service. If you have a sore throat, off to the ear, nose and throat specialist with you. If you are having problems with you eye, off to the eye specialist you go. Today you have to see two, three, or more doctors to do the job that your family doctor did by himself years ago. This is called defensive medicine and it greatly adds to our healthcare costs.
