How about Anthony Fauci? How would we know? I haven't seen any figures published on how contagious each disease is.So far we have 300k people infected in a short time with social distancing. I can’t believe some of you are still downplaying this.
How many do we have every year with the flu?
Yeah this is spreading much faster than the flu. Are you denying that?

Americans choose saving lives over the health of the US economy
Clinton is among the majority (72%)of respondents who believe the government's priority should be saving lives by stopping the spread of the virus, as opposed to sparing the economy.
Only about 1 in 5 said the government's main priority should be saving the economy.

Because it is new......we don't have a ready vaccine...but it is no deadlier than the flu...
Do you understand the destruction to people that will happen if we go into a Great Depression? Do you? How do people buy food with no jobs and no money? For years if not a decade or more?
Do you understand the consequences of that? How many will die because of that? Do you understand or care?
It’s no deadline than the flue because you say so, but as of today it’s 20x more deadly. Believe me I want to get back to a normal economy, but there won’t be a normal economy if people are getting sick and dropping like flies. We are forced to mitigate the virus. We can’t just go back to normal because that’s what you want.
People aren't dropping like flies....people who are over 80 with complications are dying.......and they are vulnerable to the seasonal flu the same way.........

"Top infectious disease expert" Anthony Fauci said a little more than a month ago that this Covid-19 crap amounts to nothing more than a bad flu year.
". . .On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%.4 In another article in the Journal, Guan et al.5 report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity. If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.2
The efficiency of transmission for any respiratory virus has important implications for containment and mitigation strategies. The current study indicates an estimated basic reproduction number (R0) of 2.2, which means that, on average, each infected person spreads the infection to an additional two persons. As the authors note, until this number falls below 1.0, it is likely that the outbreak will continue to spread. Recent reports of high titers of virus in the oropharynx early in the course of disease arouse concern about increased infectivity during the period of minimal symptoms.6,7. . . "

What a lot of people may not realize is that it isn't an "either-or" proposition. A collapsed economy and the poverty that ensues will create huge numbers of deaths. And further, a ruined economy will make it near impossible to get a cure for coronavirus or other future pestilences, as the people will be living at a subsistence level.

We don't even know the actual death rate because we don't have anti-body testing yet........so nothing they are saying is true or accurate and still, they want the Great Depression.
What if ruling what is. theres a lot of people in this country that are not old and still fall into higher risk categories. And I’m not willing to give up on the lives of my parents. I trust the experts that what we’re doing will save lives. You don’t or you don’t care. Let’s just leave it at that.

So where is the Democrat plan to deal with it? Two months ago they were telling us President Trump was the greatest threat to national security, not a virus spreading through Asia.So why hasn’t the curve been flattened in NY, where #PresidentCuomo is in charge?Do these people think letting the economy crash will have no negative impact or cost lives just curious if they consider that. It's rather sad that we have become such an either or society and that we now believe we can't try and accomplish both keeping people safe and saving the economy.
Yes, no focus on slowing the curve. Because as we've been advised by an Orange Turd, MILLIONS would be committing suicide!
Doesn't have a damn thing to do with politics. It has to do with incompetency at the top.
And undoubtedly if the max speed was 40 and occupants limited to drivers only and no driving after dark.... ....and.....and....; then there would be less injuries and fatalities40k die in car crashes. We don't stop driving...The fact that some people might die is not a sufficient reason to crash the economy. 80,000 people died from the flu last winter. Did we shut down the economy then?So far we have 300k people infected in a short time with social distancing. I can’t believe some of you are still downplaying this.

The Democrats were right... The Virus could been handled, US was the last big first world country to have to deal with it but Trump incompetence and lack of preparation has seen US having the highest rates of growth daily... Unfortunately this is going to get worse... NYC is far better set up health system especially public health than many other states...
Generally speaking the worse health systems in US are in red states...

Yeah, the Democratic leadership are complete MORONS.
Sorry - Governors are not at the top of the food chain Goober. The buck stops with fuckstain. HE is the one who labeled it a national emergency and yet continues to give the problem lip service at best. He's repeating GWB's mistake from Katrina. Blaming Governors and Mayors for his own ineptitude.
Trying to educate lefties is like trying to teach 4th graders Calculus...there are far too many gaps in their knowledge that must be filled to even get to the real problem. It is exhausting. Your knowledge of the Katrina disaster is obviously limited to what you have been told by CNN, MSNBC, etc al.
Oh really? So test me ... Brownie
Stupid shit, does your dentist come and brush your teeth for you 3 times a day? He is to blame if you get a cavity, right?
Also, didn't democrat hero Ray Nagin actually flee the city leaving people to fend for themselves? Oh and democrat Kathleen Blanco, what a treat....
You really are dumb as a fucking post.
