It has been reported that Trump went back to his white house office. He probably was watching it on TV. Yet his actions say that he tweeted and made a video calling for peace.

Instead of calling for additional back up using the office of the presidency he was to busy tweeting and releasing a video message as the president. I am sure those in the mist of the riot got those messages.
