Here's how we know we have too many lazy govt workers (if nothing else):

Everywhere I travel, I get lost (OK, not everywhere... just SEEMS like it) and this is because there are NO signs telling you such things as how far it is to such and such street... I could go on all day but you get the gist of this. I have seen in my travels SO many HUGE intersections that have NO street name on them! NONE.

So it looks like the county workers in those areas are collecting a paycheck from the taxpayers and doing NOTHING for it. Then we could go on and on about the condition of a lot of ROADS...

Then there's the damn lottery which purportedly makes our world a better place,

Actually what they do is reasonable, once you understand their reasons. People go into politics for power, not public service. People get reelected because they can bring home the pork. Lisa, apparently you are not current on VA healthcare. If you live outside the area of a VA hospital or clinic, or the one you use is overcrowded, you get what is called Community Care where you have civilian healthcare. When I applied, it was too crowded at my VA clinic, so I was allowed to see a civilian primary care doctor. I now have the same exact primary care doctor as before the VA assumed my healthcare. When my daughter just applied, they opened a new clinic at our Army post hospital, and she goes to the same hospital she did when she was active duty, but VA doctors. My son has his care at the local VA clinic and his specialists are in Nashville and the VA pays for his travel to the VA hospital there. I assume my specialists will also be in Nashville after I see my primary care.
