If he signs a contract to perform there, he becomes liable for the penalties in the contract if he cancels. It simply doesn't matter how much you hate Orange Man.

Ordinarily I would say that they had an arguable case. As with most trump grifts he is just looking for a payout.
However the trump gimp making the case seems to be out of touch with reality.
You cant get compo for poor ticket sales. Tickets sell or dont at the whim of the public. Thats just the risk you take.
In fact the artist could argue that the name itself is off putting and people of culture re unllikely to want an association with a racist cult.
The Klan Pavillion is unlikely to pack em in.

The Kennedy Center is more likely to end up paying attorney fees to the musician when the lawsuit is dismissed. Ticket were free.Another million dollars. LOL

Odds are there is no lawsuit. It wouldn't be hard to argue artistic freedom and note how you signed a contract with the Kennedy Center and not the Trump/Kennedy center which you would never do.

I don't have to because he's liable for whatever penalties are in the contract. If there are none for him cancelling at a late date, that's on the venue, and I highly doubt they would put potentially millions of dollars at risk for a petulant artist. Every contract includes penalties for breaking it.
It simply doesn't matter how much you hate Orange Man.
