Art and the appreciation of art is highly subjective. Once a set of parameters are agreed upon, sure you can have comparative value placed on it, parameters such as cultural values. Would you say that art produced by European artists is objectively superior to art produced by African artists? Europeans might say so while Africans might say the complete opposite. You can say that art within a genre can have disparate value, that's true. One does wonder why a Jackson Pollack canvas is worth more than a 6-year-old's finger painting.I won’t accept that all art is of equal value. That simply can’t be true.
It's differing appreciation for differing art. Ever see how much conservatives pay for country music concerts, cowboy memorabilia, western wear, etc.? All of that is art. What you're complaining about is they don't value the same art in the same way that you do.What I do know is that conservatives don’t fund art or produce art at the same rate because it’s not valued the same by their culture.
