Is the Democratic Party waking up?

I can understand you don't see anything unusual about Trump and his behaviors. I get it. To you, the cartoonish hyperbole, constant personal attacks and general instability are perfectly normal.
But for the majority, they are indeed unusual (even some Trumpsters have the balls to admit it), and the point is that the response from the hard Left would be similar.
.
I think for most, Trumps TV personality is seen as a serious flaw for a President, but it is refreshing in a way that seems more 'real' than the blow-dried, empty suits the Political Establishment has been dishing out to us for decades.

When Trump makes the Atlantic Coast Press fly off into gales of outrage, I think most of us find it at least amusing if not hilarious.

But Trump gets things done as opposed to professional politicians that use government projects as a means of paying off their supporters. The Wollman Rink was the classic example of this.

I would rather have a clown for President that can achieve the goals he was elected for rather than the most 'Presidential' Establishment clone with all the 'gravitas' in the world.

"Just git 'er done" is what most voters want, not more of the 'Well, we will commission a blue ribbon panel to study this problem, declare 'war' on it, come out with a full glossy set of media packaging and put this through a major media campaign for 4 years....oh, and maybe, despite our best efforts, the problem might get fixed."
"Git 'er done" is indeed what voters want. It's the "it", of course, that varies, and neither party has anything close to a monopoly on that. Even if it thinks it does.
.

I disagree. most americans want the same things
1. a growing economy
2. safety for themselves and their kids
3. sane foreign policy
4. sane financial policy
5. accountability for all who work for the government
6. a strong military and no wars
7. individual freedom

a president who delivers all or most of those will please a vast majority of americans

Since the day Trump was elected, I've been concerned he'd be so over-the-top that the Democratic Party's response would be over-the-top, too. Sure enough, that's what we've seen. And, predictably, ugly politics now pollute damn near every part of our society.

But I've also been hoping that just enough sanity would remain in the party that it would be able to see some boundaries. Maybe that's happening now, too: Centrist Democrats rethink alliances as Biden crumbles

This madness has spawned the rise of nutters like AOC, Talib & Omar, not to mention this largely whacko crop of "presidential candidates", especially Bernie and Warren. Maybe the more pragmatic elements of the party still have enough influence to stop the freakin' madness.

Here's hoping.

From the linked piece:
“If Bernie ends up being one of these frontrunners, he’ll have to moderate. I’m not going socialist. Never been a socialist,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said. “If he doesn’t change, I’ve got a dilemma there. We’ll see. But we’re talking about hypotheticals. I think there’s going to be a lot happening between now and then.”

The soul-searching within the establishment wing of the Democratic Party comes after Sanders solidified his frontrunner status in Iowa and New Hampshire, which produced a pair of cringeworthy finishes for Biden. The former vice president did so poorly in New Hampshire that he ditched his own election night watch party to head to South Carolina, possibly giving an opening to Bloomberg, who skipped the first four contests.

“I’m feeling a momentum shift to Bloomberg right now,” said Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.), who endorsed Biden in the summer and plans to stick with him.

One of the most glaring examples of the change in tide on Capitol Hill is a trio of Bloomberg endorsements from the Congressional Black Caucus on Wednesday — a not-so-subtle show of force against Biden, who remains the favored candidate among black voters nationally.

Your argument is chicken and eggs. What came first? Your assumption is Trump made the Dims get all unhinged. Okay. Maybe the Dims were already unhinged? Did that possibility cross your mind?

Many did not like Obama but the level of hatred and outright hostility directed to Trump is literally insane. The examples are too numerous to mention.

Mac there is being fair and there is being stupid. With this post you crossed that line. :)
I wish I could get you guys to think more than about half an inch deep.

Trump didn't make the Dems do anything. They lost their shit all on their own. He was merely the excuse.

I know you guys are used to having things explained to you 'n stuff, but I just don't have the patience.

When Mac is saying Trump didn't make the democrats do anything.....

Is Mac admitting there was no conclusion?

Even if I asked Mac if he believed that Trump somehow colluded with Russia to steal the election from the disgraceful witch in a pants suit, he would not answer.

Admittedly, it would be a rhetorical question on my part, but even if it wasn't, he still would not answer it and we would all know why.

So Mac, do you? Do you believe Trump colluded with Russia?

Watch this everyone.
No, I sure don't. Nor have I ever said otherwise.

Instead of making ignorant assumptions, perhaps you should just ask.

But you guys just don't have the intellectual elasticity to do that. Not my problem.

You're more than welcome to point out any hypocrisy.

Let's see if you can actually use quotes -- words I've actually used and opinions I've actually expressed -- instead of your simplistic, fabricated nutter fantasies.

I'll wait here.

You dont dare actually argue with people. Your mind doesnt have the elasticity to think beyond your ignorant POV. You prove it over and over. If you need quotes, pull up every OP you ever started.
I call you extreme for supporting a war monger and i get called a "nutter" And a trumpster even though I dont support him. While DEFENDING a socialist.

You’re right, Trump has been way over the top. It’s all the criminal behavior and not to mention the anti-America pro Russia stuff.

Russian State TV calls Trump an 'agent' after pic emerges from White House meeting with country's foreign minister

In fact, Republicans have been so pro Russia that they even put a propaganda Russian radio station right in the middle of Kansas.

Can you believe that? Republicans have become so into Russia they put a Russian propaganda radio station right in the very center of the GOP heartland.

Mac1958 is an ‘opener’, he has zero interest in closing a debate....he gets a huge boner from opening and instigating but it ends there. You can not reason with him as he is the smartest guy in the room and you are way too stupid to change his course or opinion....just ask him.
He honestly believes that everyone who drives faster than he does is a crazed lunatic and everyone who drives slower is a special retard...You drive his speed or you’re fucked..in his mind.

We are mere ropes hanging off of the Goodyear blimp.

I cannot tell you what an honor it is just to read anything he posts. Shakespeare has nothing on him.

It truly is like a new gospel of some kind. Each opinion he has is a fact, for no other reason than he expressed it.

yes, there may be differences of opinion on what constitutes success on each of those, but there is agreement in principle with a majority of americans.

But I get it, argument for the sake of argument, that's what this forum seems to be all about.

One of the most glaring examples of the change in tide on Capitol Hill is a trio of Bloomberg endorsements from the Congressional Black Caucus on Wednesday — a not-so-subtle show of force against Biden, who remains the favored candidate among black voters nationally.

.
Dems don’t have a candidate to the right of Stalin.

Hilarious with the ‘they’ll have to moderate’. Like the internet is not forever filled with their real quotes.

They do a brilliant job of being good little sheep. They are either so possessed that they cannot see how absurd communism or marxism or socialism is.

Or...

They are trust fund losers that are all part of the upper class. So therefore they couldn't care less about the plight of the middle class. Just so long as they don't and won't give up their fossil fuel consumption.

For the trust fund loser leftists, it is all about inheritance or entitlement or bloodlines etc etc etc.
