Is the Chirren Learning

As for your snark about Lynden schools,
Snark, I was complementing the Lynden School District.
I'm positive that there is NOT a more successful Public School District than Lynden.

You are the one who doesn't know much about the public and the parents it would seem.
Your 'Dale Carnegie'* skills are near non-existent.
LOLLOL....I spent 40+ years in education.
I coached Sports almost every one of those years.
I teach Math. No Indoctrination.
In my MS and HS classes, I never encountered a student that "Can't Read"
it's just a common RW talking point.

That's why I asked you, even in your GOP Indoctrination Sessions with the public at the Lynden Fair, have you ever actually encountered a 'person' that "Can't READ?"

Sure. But you realize homeschooled kids already have a leg up: they have parents invested in their education. Many public school kids do not.
Yup.
But that doesn't effect the linked article of an earlier post I've been basing my posts on, and which some are denying;

Oops! We ran into some problems.

This member limits who may view their full profile.

Yet many home-schooled do better than those in the public schools.
Sure, but you need to know how many times I had a new "Homeschooled" student enter my math class because they simply couldn't handle the math a home. Often.
Yes, most were good students, but fact is they came roaring back to the Public School to get their Math Knowledge.

For the most part, somewhat correct.
I see one major purpose of education is to teach how to find correct information and know how to determine it is correct.
Good for you! I think you are starting to see that teachers are not ******* amateurs like most people think we are!

They do vote, so should have a clue if their vote is to have value.
We passed out a lot of pocket copies of the Constitution and tell the recipient here's your citizen's owner's manual.
Good for you! Now, do you want a cookie? You still have not addressed the fundamental issue.

Yup.

How many home-schooled kids participated in that study? I am betting very close to zero.

Of Course......that's why the boogie man phrase of Common Core triggers you.
What is 35% of 40?

1) Some will just multiple 0.35 by 40 and get 14
2) Another will say...10% of 40 is 4, and 3 4's is 12, and 5% of 40 is 2, so 12 + 2 =14
3) Another will say 30% of 40 is 12, and you have another 5% of 40 to do, which is 2, so 12+2=14
4). Another may just some kind of chart or diagram, even heard of a "Tape Diagram" and show 14

This is what great teachers allow.
You may believe that there is ONLY one way to properly show your work/knowledge.
We, as teachers, are willing to listen too and accept many thought processes.

I challenge you, Stryder50 , to suggest......yes Winco, you are correct, and Stryder was being shallow.

Did Stryder50 take his ball and leave?

C'mon dude.......continue.....

Below is a "Fake News" on factual information, simply because you are too cowardly to continue a conversation with people that know MORE about a subject than you pretend to know.

Why Stryder50 the Fake News?

I get something similar when people say things like "He couldn't speak ONE WORD of English when referring to ELLs. No one sets foot in this country who can't speak ONE WORD of English. Even SLIFE students can speak more than a handful of English words, most much more than that. It's kind of like people who watch a wrestling match (real) and say it's "boring." They don't understand what they're looking at.

I have to give you a ton of credit for that one! Excellent post!

I actually did once. A guidance counselor brought a kid to my classroom who was coming from Ukraine. This was 20 years ago, and he spoke exactly zero English. He excelled in my math classes because math is universal, and he had a good background education. He was the only exception I ever encountered. I spoke more Russian that he did English, and I don't speak more than 10 words.

Why Stryder50 the Fake News?
I've other more important things to do than spend the day repeating myself here. Especially when the day is nice and the garden rushing into harvest season.
BTW, most who do indoctrination, being indoctrinated themselves, fail to recognize it as such, komrade.
"Fake News" because I've yet to see confirmation you don't make things up.

Give us an example of indoctrination you have seen in a math class.

Winco and I are both math teachers. Tell us what we are missing!

Were did your imagination conceive that Common Core triggers me ?
My who point in this thread is that the article linked and under discussion claims the best state for education one get 40% of students with proficiency in basic reading and math for 4th and 8th grade.
Doesn't sound like much progress to me and if the other 49 states do even worse this nation is in trouble.

Since you want to show off, explain to us how one molecule can transfer 2-3 degrees of heat exactly and equally to 2,499 other molecules raising their heat by 2-3 degrees..
