So do many public schooled kids fail out.And they should, but they don't. Despite all the hype about success, when home-schooled kids get to college, many fail out because they no longer have mom or dad holding their hand 24-7-365.
#1...... there is a difference between Heat and Temperature (Degrees)........Geez.Were did your imagination conceive that Common Core triggers me ?
My who point in this thread is that the article linked and under discussion claims the best state for education one get 40% of students with proficiency in basic reading and math for 4th and 8th grade.
Doesn't sound like much progress to me and if the other 49 states do even worse this nation is in trouble.
Since you want to show off, explain to us how one molecule can transfer 2-3 degrees of heat exactly and equally to 2,499 other molecules raising their heat by 2-3 degrees..
Are you paying me to reply ?Now, address the claim of Fake News (Twice) to factual information.

Nope. English is taught in Ukraine from the first grade. Even if that student missed all education until he showed up in your class, he understood "yes," "no," "hello," "goodbye," etc. What's more likely is that the kid was overwhelmed by too much change too fast and was struggling with an affective disorder that can make certain people taciturn when anxious or insecure. In certain circumstances it can even lead to selective mutism.I actually did once. ...
That's why I said heat, not temperature;#1...... there is a difference between Heat and Temperature (Degrees)........Geez.
#2......Do you also confuse the terms 'Mass' and 'Weight'.....?
What have you specifically seen with your own two eyes in either of those subjects?...
Indoctrination usually happens in civics/history and subtle ways in other social sciences, English etc. ...
I didn't bring up home-schooling. You did! Oops! You're moving goal posts.

Lots I am sure, but not for the same reason as being socially unprepared. So do many public schooled kids fail out.
Are you referring to yourself in the 3rd person now, Bob Dole?...

This was more than 20 years ago only a short time after the Soviet Union broke up. He spoke no English. I had to pantomime opening his textbook and point to the applicable sections in the book. He was incapable of functioning in English in any way. I suppose that is why he answered "da" when I asked if he understood what I was saying.Nope. English is taught in Ukraine from the first grade. No, it is my direct way of telling you I know about languages and language acquisition. He might have been unwilling to take a risk and speak so much as "yes" or "no," but he did not "speak no English at all." It's academic since he obviously had a lot to learn and a lot of confidence to develop from there. He probably did so in due time. In my experience kids from Ukraine are pretty sharp. This was more than 20 years ago only a short time after the Soviet Union broke up. He spoke no English. I guess that was subtle way of calling me a liar. You were not there. No dice!
You realize that if he responded that way to your question, he DID understand the question, right? Listening always precedes speaking, but IS a form of "functioning" in a language. It is an essential step in language acquisition. There is no way he understood your somewhat complex question and did not know the word "yes." At a certain age kids start to become very self-conscious about accents and grammar errors and such. On a different level, that's why adults are so often less successful in fully acquiring new languages.... He was incapable of functioning in English in any way. I suppose that is why he answered "da" when I asked if he understood what I was saying.

Creating the proper voter base for voting to end freedom, anyway.Yeah that would be a big fat no. Can we admit public schools need some fixing? Public schools are turning out the ignoramus's needed to destroy the country.

This is a classic component of trolls, they prefer to not share anything about themselves, and lack imagination to even fabricate something phony. What additional information would help you meet your needs?
You and Admiral Rockwell Tory realize that we are all educators, and you support things I say about education.Unkotare was just kidding, Winco. Unkotare was just lightening the mood, Winco. Unkotare meant no offense, Winco. Unkotare seems to have annoyed Admiral, but Unkotare didn't mean to.
