When you read what I wrote later then I guess you know now why it is stupid to say "Aramaiac is the lingua franka of the Jews" - the Jews spoke just simple Aramaic. And it exist only very few lingua frankas. The lingua franka which the Frank (=German) ruler Charlesmagne preferred had been for example Latin. He was not able to read and to write but he also spoke fluently Latin. I do not know how the Gauls and Germanics in France spoke before him - but it had for sure a very big influence on the unified language French of today which is one of the most wonderful languages of the world and which had been also for some time in history a lingua franka.

In the English of the people of North America---the term LINGUA FRANKA regardless of the ORIGIN of the term, is USED to describe the language used by a people in communication and common business transactions especially
