I think Republicans should back Rubio. He has experience, is a statesman and would be a good candidate to run in 2028. Most democrats would be defeated by a Rubio/Don Jr ticket. He would help hold the hispanic vote up which has shown to be important in electing republicans to office the past 25 years. One of the big reasons for Trump winning in 2024.
This would set up Don Jr or Erick up for 2032 or 2036. I'd run experience and someone that Trump chose and trusted in an important position as his spokes man.
This ticket would destroy Harris.
I wanted either him or Rand Paul to win in 2016. Trump was the better option in his first term since he was the greater disrupter, though we did not know at the time just how serious he was (to the delight of many Americans at the expense of the MSM).
I wanted him for V.P in 2024 though it seems Vance was probably the more laudable choice as Rubio for Sec of State worked out generally well. Both he and Vance are outspoken about abuses from China to traditional allies. This altered position was needed.
In my estimation, Rubio would be akin to GHWB when he and Reagan were battling for leadership, Vance being more the Reagan type. Wiser to have Vance win the Primary and Rubio selecting him for V.P with the approach trying to gain a 16 year run between them. Coupled with Trumps terms, that would be 20 of 24 years as a Conservative government, more MAGA, libertarian, populist leaning as Reagan was.
Only such a long run of such leaders who hopefully turn the clock back on the world to the 1980s U.S.A dominance can the global socialist, China-First Marxists be extinguished.
When Dems do take over again, you want it to replicate that time period in which Clinton won. He could not be far left as the Reagan years were so strong. Obama followed GWB as a far-left since GWB had been a Neo-Con and thus America needed a much different direction.
If Rubio runs, especially with the Iran war fresh and he as SoS and a powerful member of the Senate Select Committee on Intel, it will place a very large bullseye for the opposition. Vance can reclaim the Independents and younger voters, Rubio can rebuild as V.P to allow him to run after Vance.
That is how I would plan this as the G.O.P. You know how you can tell this will work? The Establishment Neo-Cons and RINOs in the GOP are already trying to harm Trumps midterms and beyond. His most powerful asset now is his endorsement. They know this and so does Trump and he is not holding back. Trump wants the Establishment guys gone and his endorsement will fullfill this. See how quickly Graham started to give Trump some credit after sounding so harsh? Once Trump called out his displeasure they realized "you might wake Trump up and find an unexpected endorsement for your opponent, potentially ending your political career"
