The traditional portrait of Jesus is with the long blondish hair looking like a refugee from Woodstock. Where did it come from? Was it a marketing gimmick , in the age before photography, rather than an accurate profile of Almighty God's face?

The reality is that Jesus H. Christ was Jewish, and could have easily looked like Moses Horwitz aka Moe Howard of Hollywood fame who portrayed both a carpenter as well as a fisherman in two of his flicks.

Would Christianity have been successful if Moe's portrait would have been used instead?

Religious organizations are crime syndicates.
All they want to do is rule people, force people to believe "scary stories" in order to keep them under control and use them to their advantage.
Of course they're going to create a mascot that best represents whatever culture is the most prominent they are tryting to control.

He likely had short dark hair and olive to dark skin. Not really like Moe either.

No one knows and a real Christian shouldn't care.

There is no such animal as an "unreal" Christian. You either believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for the sins of humanity, rose from the dead, and offers salvation and eternal life to all who believe in him...

Or you don't.

Well, we sure know what Satan/Lucifer looks like.

The same is true for the Bhudda. He is depicted in each culture as a person of that ethnic makeup.

As for the late JC, it is perverse, but harmless.

I didn't say there was. That obviously didn't stop you though.

I was just speculating , and doing so by looking at actual photos of Christ's kinfolk who live in the current era. Guys like Moe.

Akiane Kramarik is an artist, who has had dreams of heaven, Jesus. She began painting as a child, and was very good. Seeing Jesus in her dreams, she prayed that he send her a model that looked like him--and the next day this carpenter showed up at her door.
