How does “income inequality” affect your quality of life?

What other country has better “income equality” vs. US? How is that country overall economically vs. US? Finally, is there a better country in the world to be poor than the US? The current system has welfare recipients not working yet getting healthcare, food, rent, big screen TVs and cell phones.

Why then, the push for more “equal” income distribution? Why, only a socialist intent on locking in a true 1 percent and keep lying a Middle Class?
USA is Number One in income inequality

Global Inequality - Inequality.org

"Inequality has been on the rise across the globe for several decades. Some countries have reduced the numbers of people living in extreme poverty. But economic gaps have continued to grow as the very richest amass unprecedented levels of wealth.

"Among industrial nations, the United States is by far the most top-heavy, with much greater shares of national wealth and income going to the richest 1 percent than any other country."

Yes, the U.S. is home to MANY extremely wealthy people...that’s sucks huh? They fuck the averages all up huh?
Global Inequality - Inequality.org

"The top 1 percent in the United States holds 42.5 percent of national wealth, a far greater share than in other OECD countries. In no other industrial nation does the richest 1 percent own more than 28 percent of their country’s wealth."

Is this your idea of greatness?

Other countries don’t have a strong a middle class as us. Moreover, if other countries score better on the “income inequality” card, how come America is the top Immigrarion destination? Do those other countries have the capacity and role and responsibility to police the globe? Are those other countries playing host to UN HQ?

I don’t argue the income disparity in the US. I question why and how that is hurting US comparatively.

Okay...so what does that mean to you?
There’s a few extremely wealthy people and a bunch who are not. It’s just that simple...no?
Los Angeles is full of multi-millionaires...it’s also full of poverty stricken folks living in despair....SO?

Income inequality is a drag on our economy Because it causes disturbances in the Political Force.

Social programs are usually oriented toward solving social objectives not market based phenomena.

Like, wow man.

Why, then, would the US be the top destination for immigrants from around the World? Don’t go to the US, it has the highest “income inequality”. You note that US leads in income inequality. Perhaps we are up there in Opportunity and Welfare as well.
There's no doubt in my mind Opportunity and Welfare play a role in migration from Central America, but so does Desperation:

"Hundreds of new Honduran migrants begin journey to US

Asylum seekers have crossed into Guatemala in the latest 'migrant caravan' heading towards the US..."

'We live in a crisis in Honduras': New US-bound caravan forms

"It was still dark when hundreds of Hondurans set out for the border with Guatemala as part of a new caravan of US-bound migrants and asylum seekers.

"'The economic crisis has been tremendous, with unemployment going up and corruption getting worse,' Daniel Munoz, 38, from the Honduran department of Cortes, said as he joined his 16-year-old daughter and others on the second group of the caravan on Tuesday."

The US has played a direct role in destabilizing Honduras and other Central American states.

The migrants fleeing those conditions are entitled to asylum hearings without having to wait for weeks on Mexican bridges.

How / Why is artificially or arbitrarily changing income gap through redistribution going to make US better and not simply “fundamentally transformed” into another middle-of-the-pack or failed socialist nation?
I don't believe a market that distributes goods and services on the basis of ability to pay automatically distributes income in a just manner, especially when the minority who own the means of production have far more political influence than the majority of workers.

It reduces to whether or not you believe workers have a moral right to their pre-tax incomes; is there any justice in a Wall Street banker earning more than scientist working on a cure for cancer? If not, government has an obligation to redistribute the banker's income.

I drive around liberal neighborhoods in my giant diesel truck flaunting my wealth and disregard for the environment.

Of course. You're definitely one of those douche bags. Does it feel awesome to take your big ass ford around paved roads and roll coal too? Because 'flaunting your wealth' means posing like you're truly hardcore in suburbia makes you a TRUE American, amirite? You're 10-ply at best, bud. The worst of us.

I used my diesel today to collect firewood. Absolutely no one was around. That's because I have no need to do stupid shit like that in my town of less than 1000. But, you keep on keeping on with that soft ass shit. MAGA!

I don't think the US middle class is nearly as strong as it was fifty years ago:

Seven reasons to worry about the American middle class

"Despite gains in national income over the past half-century, American households in the middle of the distribution have experienced very little income growth in recent decades:

"Median household income has barely budged in recent decades..."

"Stagnant incomes and falling wages have meant that fewer Americans are growing up to be better off than their parents. Upward absolute intergenerational mobility was once the almost-universal experience among America’s youth.

"No longer.

"Among those born in 1940, about 90 percent of children grew up to experience higher incomes than their parents, according to researchers at the Equality of Opportunity Project. This proportion was only 50 percent among those born in the 1980s:"

Over the last forty years the productive core of the US economy has been systematically hollowed out, and it has been replaced with one speculative bubble after another.

Should this trend continue, America will become a third world failed state devoid of any meaningful middle class.

I am not poorer because somebody else is richer.

However, I am poorer when the filthy ass government takes my hard earned money and then gives it away to somebody else that didn't earn it.

In fact they have a word for that - slavery.

Income inequality increased when that worthless asshole failure Obama was President. Just like poverty increased, debt really increased and we had dismal economic growth.

How Capitalism Made Americans Poor, and Socialism Made Europeans Rich

"America has the world’s first two trillion dollar companies — Apple and Amazon. Go capitalism!

"The problem is that while corporate profits have never been higher, the average American’s life has fallen apart.

"In every single way that you can think of.

"The majority of Americans now live perched right at the edge of ruin, atop a razor blade of disaster. 80% percent live paycheck to paycheck, 70% can’t raise $1000 for an emergency, and so on.

"The average American faces a new kind of poverty — precarity.

"Hence, depression and suicide are skyrocketing, while extremism is rising, as people have lost faith in their society to ever really improve their lives again — the vast majority of Americans now expect their kids’ lives to decline, too."

Capitalism has moved on from where it began in Europe and North America, and it has hollowed out the middle class it helped construct.

It's not coming back, and neither is the middle class in this country without an economic sea change.

I am not poorer because somebody else is richer.

However, I am poorer when the filthy ass government takes my hard earned money and then gives it away to somebody else that didn't earn it.

tax cuts for the rich and financing Government debt by the People? only lousy capitalists lose money on public policy.
