Do you have a link for this? In her memoir, Harris stated that she had "nagging concerns" about Shapiro, describing him as overly confident and eager to the point where she worried he wouldn't be content with the secondary role of the vice presidency.

As a child growing up in the 1950's in the shadow of WWII, I couldn't understand how the German people - a kind and decent people, could have allowed the Holocaust to happen. I read every book I could find on WWII, including William Manchester's brilliant series of books on the topic. The Arms of Krupp demonstrates the how and why wealthy German industrialists like the Krupp Family profited from the forced labour camps, and the wars.

The last, and in many ways most enlightening book I read was actually a work of fiction from 1997: Stones From the River, by Ursula Helgi finally made me see how it happened and why ordinary Germans didn't rise up against any of it.

Having spent most of my life questioning how the supposed "Master Race" could sink so low into depravity, murder and genocide, we now have "American Exceptionalism" and "White Culture" blaming immigrants for the economic woes of the people, in the same way that Hitler blamed the Jews.

You've moved onto Phase II, which is rounding up, locking up and abusing non-white immigrants. Demanding that non-white citizens carry "papers" proving their citizenship at all times, and being required to produce them for masked, plain clothes ICE Officers who accost them in the streets. They're not being deported. They're being detained without bail in conditions that are so inhumane, that ICE would prosecuted if they were keeping animals or livestock in this manner.

Sleeping on concrete floors with no blankets, being fed worm infested food, being denied medical care. Dozens have died in custody under questionable circumstances. And those who protest these things are being treated as domestic terrorists.

Trump is trying to forceably stifle all dissent or criticism of his policies and programs, with threats, law suits, investigations, criminal charges, and physical brutality including the murder of protestors. Media outlets which fail to promote government propaganda are having their licenses threatened. Trump friendly networks fire anyone Trump doesn't like.

You have real NAZI's occupying the top offices in the nation, and promoting fascist policies and a white nationalist agenda. White South African billionaires and power brokers at the top of the donor lists for the Republican Party.

Every time I hear the expression "American Exceptionalism" I hear the echo of "Aryan Supremacy". You've already built the death camps. You're already starving and abusing the families they're holding there. You just haven't started the wholesale slaughter of those who are locked up in them - yet.
