How does “income inequality” affect your quality of life?

I’ve never been able to understand how my neighbor having more and or making more than me changes the course of my life. Anybody?
Do you understand that US taxpayers pay about $243 billion in subsidies to the fast food industry every year because wages in that industry are so low workers must resort to food stamps to feed themselves and their families?

Yep. We need to abolish everything on that list.
Are you sure?
Rich people get very mad when you take their entitlements.

Absolutely. The government shouldn't be in the "business" of redistributing wealth.

The European and other countries with high tax rates at least have quite a few safety nets. In fact, most modern countries have affordable health care and education including higher education. Health care as a right is also part of freedom. You could actually change jobs or start a business and don't have to consider whether or not you will be covered or not. We use the word freedom a lot here but in reality, if you lose you're health care, you're screwed. We've probably all known people in that situation. Job's lousy, could be more creative and productive and happy with your own business but can't lose health insurance. Young people going to college are also screwed in comparison with the youngsters of the pre reagan era when higher education was affordable, at least in states like California.

You Mexicrats have demanded the we create a MASSIVE underclass...what did you think would happen?

Because instead of investing in workers, upper management ... doesn't do that, and instead profits go directly to shareholders, the biggest of whom are already rich? I don't get what you mean. If you are a worker, an employee, someone who is trying to climb, greater income inequality is bad for you. If you are already rich that's another story, but I don't see why you conservatives are always cheering for the rich to get richer. I'm pretty sure most of you aren't them. You're just workers.

Is “safety net” synonymous with “forcing others to pay for my shit”?

If its your neighbor chances are they dont have much more or they wouldnt be your neighbor.

Income inequality affects your education, access to good medical care, living conditions, etc

How is my life impacted by him being able to pay for better education, better medical and live in a nicer home?
You are looked down on like you are less than human..Look at how androjism acts.

I drive around liberal neighborhoods in my giant diesel truck flaunting my wealth and disregard for the environment.

Jeff Bezos has 150 billion dollars. if he gave me 1 billion, what difference would that matter to him. it would change my life forever

i have thoughts like that all the time. its a psychological thing, income inequality

Can you make as much money as your neighbor? In other words does the opportunity exist for you to increase your income through your own effort?

I ask because it's less about what one person has verses what another has, than it is about having the ability and/or opportunities for upward mobility if one so chooses.

If I want to increase my income there are only a couple of ways I can do that, but having those options is what is important.

I never understood why I was suppose to make more money then the guy down the street, I like having free time, screw working yer life away for a position in life which will not extend your life by one day...Enjoy life..

What other country has better “income equality” vs. US? How is that country overall economically vs. US? Finally, is there a better country in the world to be poor than the US? The current system has welfare recipients not working yet getting healthcare, food, rent, big screen TVs and cell phones.

Why then, the push for more “equal” income distribution? Why, only a socialist intent on locking in a true 1 percent and keep lying a Middle Class?
USA is Number One in income inequality

Global Inequality - Inequality.org

"Inequality has been on the rise across the globe for several decades. Some countries have reduced the numbers of people living in extreme poverty. But economic gaps have continued to grow as the very richest amass unprecedented levels of wealth.

"Among industrial nations, the United States is by far the most top-heavy, with much greater shares of national wealth and income going to the richest 1 percent than any other country."

Ultimately we need a constitutional amendment banning discriminatory taxation.

If 95 percent of the wealth is in the hands of a few then the rest don't have ANY money to pay. This isn't rocket science.

I'm sure you do.

You might just as well have said "i'm a fkn arsehole and I enjoy pissing people off"

Behaving like a decent person didn't occur to you?

If the left would mind their own business they wouldn't even notice me :04:

I define INCOME EQUALITY AS GIVING MY MONEY TO LAZY ASSHOLES WHO WON'T WORK TO EARN THEIR OWN INCOME.

Its bad enough that they mooch off us, but now days they feel ENTITLED to mooch off us like we owe it to them.
47% of America pays no Taxes. But did you know that only 20% of Welfare Recipients ARE American Citizens?

Illegal Immigrants make up 65% of Welfare, and Legal Immigrants only make up about 15%.

Most American Citizens and most LEGAL Immigrants work for a living. Our Social Safety Net is going to collapse with the continual flooding of illegal immigrants.

I know that we are $20 trillion in debt because the mooching class refuse to pay their share.
Well get off your ass and pay your share!

I pay my share AND your share loser.

Why, then, would the US be the top destination for immigrants from around the World? Don’t go to the US, it has the highest “income inequality”. You note that US leads in income inequality. Perhaps we are up there in Opportunity and Welfare as well.

How / Why is artificially or arbitrarily changing income gap through redistribution going to make US better and not simply “fundamentally transformed” into another middle-of-the-pack or failed socialist nation?

"The top 1 percent in the United States holds 42.5 percent of national wealth, a far greater share than in other OECD countries. In no other industrial nation does the richest 1 percent own more than 28 percent of their country’s wealth."
