Two senators from every state was created to protect rural areas from highly populated cities and other highly populated areas. Just like the electoral college.

Democrats can convince the rural population if you go out and talk to them.

Democrats didn't spend enough time in those areas and that is a small part of the reason we have Donald Trump.

The biggest reason was because the media, including MSNBC, CNN and others, played his speeches endlessly.

As I've posted links to before, research and university studies suggest Trump received 4.5 to 5 billion dollars in free air time. More than all the candidates from both parties put together.
