Healthcare Premiums Soar

It is neither. It is government control of healthcare and insurance that ensures that it will be so much more costly and inefficient/ineffective than if the ACA had never been passed.
I agree that with health insurance (excluding major medical) and the government subsidizing the health industry, prices will continue to go higher. It's not just that with the extra money the industry charges more, it's also the regulations that cause prices to soar as well. Remember how it was back in the 50's and 60's when there was just major medical.

Call it what you want but the fact is premiums are rising. It’s cheaper to face a fine than having coverage.
Get the government out of business of subsidizing and regulating all industries and costs will come down.

Once again call your nurse over. Either that or you are too stupid to realize the ACA helps keeps medical rates down by making sure everyone has insurance. Since you are borderline senile I wouldn’t expect you to understand.
Is that why insurance rates keep increasing? You don't have a clue junior, evidenced by you resorting immediately to personal attacks without one word in support of your position beyond what Schumer and Jeffries have told you--LOL, which is nothing. The point you and they have failed to address is the logic behind shutting down the gov't because of "cuts" that haven't happened and will not happen until Nov. 21. Now please explain how they can negotiate their desires without a continuing resolution and exactly how they expect to achieve the continuation of that all-important ACA for illegal aliens. You're going to lose the ACA and it is going to be 100% on the heads of the democrats.

I keep on hearing from the media that the GOP will pay dearly if the shutdown has no end in sight. However, I couldn't help wondering if that's true, why are the GOP in control of Congress and executive when they have been trying to end Obamacare several times. Even the SC was forced to make a ruling. Seems like the media are throwing a lifeline to Democrats.

LOL, democrats are ensuring the demise of the ACA. You can't negotiate the continuation of a program if you don't keep the gov't open in the days leading to the expiration of the program.

It seems to me that our gub'mit, despite it's best intents, fails to see the consequences of their actions no matter how obvious they appear.....~S~

The healthcare system in the US is for the benefit of businesses, not people.

With subsidies or not, healthcare is still too expensive for many families as a pittance of 50 grand isnt going to make it feasible. Yet the worlds greatest nation is clueless as to figure out to fix it. As the 2 sides spat about it, peoples lives are in the fallout. The fact is the overwhelming majority of people are working harder than ever and barely hanging on. Theres your reality. They couldnt afford it before the aca and they cant afford it now.

Because it did.
However bad you think it sucked before the ACA, it sucked for lower premiums and deductables.

At least for people who had jobs with employer-provided health policies.

The ACA while far from perfect has provided health insurance to millions. Before the ACA was passed medical bankruptcies were routinely filed. The OP as usual fails to look at he down party for undermining the ACA at every turn including by not extending the tax credits, among other things. Only a fool wants to go back to the days before the ACA when hospitals see flooded with the uninsured.

I fail to see the difference between someone whose is “insured” by the ACA, but fully subsidized, vs someone who just walks in and gets free healthcare that the hospital passes on to the government(taxpayers) or other patients.

It sucks but so would what we would have (or not have) without it.
We would have had what we had before - responsible people able to afford their own insurance, and poor people on Medicaid.

Now we have a scheme that has driven premiums so high that even someone making $100,000 a year can’t afford them.

All by intent.

Glad I have congress-critter insurance.

You knew damn well that Halfrican Care was fucked up when congress and the .gov refused to be subjected to it.
How do YOU have Congressional health insurance?

The rest filed bankruptcy or didn't get treated.

That isn't what we had. Year after year the biggest cause of bankruptcy was medical bills.

The poor people got Medicaid, and they had no money to go “bankrupt” with anyway.

Other people could have bought catastrophic insurance for a major illness and gone to low-cost clinics for routine issues. (That’s what I did in my early 20s.)

Because people didn’t buy ANY insurance. They could have bought cheap catastrophic care plans.

Why is the libs’ answer to everything just “make someone else pay for it?”

"Someone else"? I've always supported paying for it.

You support having taxpayers buy inflated health insurance for others who, prior to Obamacare, could afford it on their own.
