Healthcare in the US is a privilege

You seem to have missed the point. Deliberately, I spose.
Not at all, if you have questions on the NHS, read up on it. You can Google the number of patient appointments etc.. too.

You continue to ignore the point. I don't want politicians controlling my health care. Do you?

Ok, you're just playing dodgem'. Have fun with that.
Here's a list of the NHS directors -

You think the NHS is ran from the Commons Floor :auiqs.jpg:

Big pharma can't put me in jail if I tell them to get fucked.
Ah yes, you're American, you're indoctrinated with those crazy thoughts. Can I suggest you get a passport and go see other places, then your eyes will open for the better. Quit talking to a flag.

Likewise. Or maybe just read the news headlines over here. All the people who are dependent on government programs are now in a panic, because our current administration is a complete clown show. Maybe we'll learn something from the experience. Probably not.

I've been to the US several times, used to go to Kenly NC to see a relative off my mother's side. Drove around Florida quite a few times. I've also been to quite a few countries, best one was Tunisia.

You should try venturing outside of the US, YOU WILL be pleasantly surprised.

Still evading the argument. Good for you!

The way I see it, if my choice is between healthcare being controlled by politicians who need to get reelected or insurance companies who need to make as much profit as possible. The incentive structure makes the choice easy.

American healthcare doesn't give the consumer more choice because care is locked behind what a person can afford. I've seen this firsthand. My wife is American and I'm Belgian, and let me tell you that her and her families experiences in the US with healthcare are vastly worse than those in Belgium.

For instance, on Sunday I broke my collar bone. Went to the ER, had an X-ray and a follow up next week to see if I'll require surgery. The ER visit was about 2 hours in and out. The cost will be about 60 Euro out of pocket. My recovery which will take 4 to 6 weeks at the moment and will put me on medical leave which is 90 percent of my wages. After which I will still have my job since employers can't fire somebody unless his medical status makes him unable to do the job after recovery.

Compare and contrast.

The only country in the world with the bulk of private healthcare is the US. A search, AI says -

While many countries have healthcare systems with both public and private components, the United States is the only OECD country where voluntary health insurance is the main financing and coverage system for most of the population.

Healthcare is the US is a privilege, we enjoy healthcare as a RIGHT in the UK.

How bad is that? Worse than most third world countries. And no, everyone doesn't fly to the US for healthcare, that's a fallacy.

Why is healthcare in the US so bad??
You crack me up, you really do.

In yoar nation, you are on the right.

. . . but on this forum, most consider you no better than a two bit socialist.

I have question for the "merica first" cult.

If US the US healthcare system is so great?
How many countries in the world are dropping universal healthcare, for the US based, for-profit healthcare system?

The good news is, those aren't the only two options!
