Healthcare in the US is a privilege

It needs an overhaul so that insurance companies cannot reject legit claims. If one pays for the insurance ones claims should be covered, not rejected. That's a problem. A huge problem.
If someone is rejected by insurance, they can go to a charity, if that charity rejects them go to another. In countries with complete government control over health care, if the government turns you down the only place to go is assisted suicide.

Nope. Just make it so the insurance company can't deny a viable claim. That's wrong. Pay for a policy that rejects one's claims? Nope.

The only country in the world with the bulk of private healthcare is the US. A search, AI says -

While many countries have healthcare systems with both public and private components, the United States is the only OECD country where voluntary health insurance is the main financing and coverage system for most of the population.

Healthcare is the US is a privilege, we enjoy healthcare as a RIGHT in the UK.

How bad is that? Worse than most third world countries. And no, everyone doesn't fly to the US for healthcare, that's a fallacy.

Why is healthcare in the US so bad??
Well "Captain Caveman" Charlie, let's start by using the correct terms and concepts.

1) "healthcare" as in "taking care of one's own health"; i.e. eating a healthy diet, regular exercise, adequate rest, using preventative medical exams and treatments, avoiding risky~life threatening activities; avoiding damaging drugs/intoxicants, i.e.; doing what you can and should to to remain healthy, take CARE of your OWN Health.

2) 'healthcare' = "medical care", what one may need if "1)" above fail;s to work as intended. Seeing a doctor or other medical care providers to treat/fix where your personal "care of health" failed.

3) 'healthcare' = "medical care insurance" where others are expected to pay some to all of the "medical care" costs when you and your lifestyle have failed to provide the "care of your health (health-care)" you are responsible for.

So DEADBEAT 'Captain Caveman' Charlie, when you fail to do the adult and responsible actions to take CARE of YOUR Health, why should I and your fellow citizens have to pay the Medical Care Expenses for your Negligence and poor decisions, unhealthy lifestyles, etc. ??? !!!

If you can't take care of your own health it isn't my, or anyone else's obligations to pay for your sloppy neglect and unhealthy living!

Suck up and face the consequences of your being a fuck-up!

We don't need your waste in the gene-pool or consuming resources.

Healthcare is the US is a privilege, we enjoy healthcare as a RIGHT in the UK.
What does it mean to say that healthcare is a "right"? How much healthcare is your right? If you can't afford healthcare, who is violating your rights? How should they be punished for doing that?

Because the insurance industry controls healthcare. There is no doctor-patient relationship as there was decades ago, there is the doctor-patient relationship supervised and controlled by the insurance industry. Everybody knows that. It's very expensive and leads to poor medical practices. That's why the insurance big wig was assassinated in NYC.

Exactly. But how do they do that? How do they control healthcare? What needs to change?
It has evolved over decades. I suppose state laws are written for the insurance companies.

Exactly. The insurance industry created little fiefdoms built around state insurance regulation. When that wasn't enough, they went for more centralized control with federal regulation (ACA). We've been going in the wrong direction.

Irrelevant of the tax you pay, you have the Right to see a doctor and receive NHS treatment in the UK. In the US, it's a privilege based on if you can afford healthcare.

But how much healthcare do you have a "right" to? And who decides?
Loads. You also have the option/Right to pay private, and that cost is cheap as chips, been there do d that. The the tax cost is half the monthly private US cost.

How many loads? Again, who decides how much health care you get?

See, here's the thing. Maybe over there you have implicit trust in your government and political leaders. Over here, we have Donald Trump. I don't want him, or people appointed by him, in charge of my healthcare.

Then why do all Foreigners come HERE to get top Medical Help?

It's neither bad, nor good. It just means that in the US, the government doesn't control healthcare. Or the government doesn't control healthcare as much as you might like.

We would get better care for cheaper, on average, across the population, if we had a system like the UK, Canada, and others.

Unfortunately, in a hyper-capitalistic country like ours, where we trust everything to markets that aren't really transparent, the statement above isn't persuasive.

Then why do all Foreigners come HERE to get top Medical Help?
Sorry, I replied saying fallacy. When folk go to different countries for healthcare, it's called health tourism. It tends to be for certain specialist care. The vast majority are treated in their own country, the health tourism percentage is small, and the major increase tends to be plastic surgery, fake teeth, breast work etc.. The numbers involved is akin to when pro abortionists always claim rapes and gun nuts claim self defence, such tiny percentages.
