Here's an argum my from a Jewish source. Pretty weak if you're honest:

Link your source. Or are you "the source"
why? They were not in error for what they are and what their goal is.Have you showed them they're in error?
An interesting side-note: Upthread, Carl in Michigan made the insulting comment that Jews are “incomplete.” Coincidently, Jews who believe Jesus was the son of Gd sometimes refer to themselves as “completed Jews.”that's funny. You can't even see the obvious problems you are creating by trusting "AI."

First, you have to recognize the change in tenses. Note the past tense. Also note that the translation undercuts your original question so you are now trying to reframe.Okay, this is how they translate it. Pretty much the same as mine
For a child has been born to us,
A son has been given us.
And authority has settled on his shoulders.
He has been named
“The Mighty God is planning grace;
The Eternal Father, a peaceable ruler”
Again someone BORN with a pretty lofty title. Not the usual, "Who is like God" (Michael)
So who do you say this prophecy is referring to?
I'm here for DISCUSSION. You often post on the Religion Forum but you seem to look for opportunities to be mock offended. An interesting side-note: Upthread, Carl in Michigan made the insulting comment that Jews are “incomplete.” Coincidently, Jews who believe Jesus was the son of Gd sometimes refer to themselves as “completed Jews.”
IME, I have found that Jews who believe in Jesus are the most obnoxious to Jews who do not.
So why won’t you answer : Were you a Jew who then decided to “accept” Jesus?I'm here for DISCUSSION. You often post on the Religion Forum but you seem to look for opportunities to be mock offended.
I'm not offended when Jews mock my God as I understand Him. Neither do the words of Muslims offend me. I only want sincere CONVERSATION, but you want to silence opinion you disagree with, with all your rules: "don't quote your New Testament, it OFFENDS me!". I don't lecture Mormons not to cite their book. Neither do I tell Muslims not to cite theirs. I like honest CONVERSATION. You are too easily "offended." I don't believe you're offended at all. I believe you have control issues. But I still like you as a poster.
But yes, Judaism, has become self limited. Your own prophets announced Him, but you reject Him. I honestly don't care if it hits a nerve with you. This is the purpose of a messageboard
I appreciate you actually explaining your position/interpretation.First, you have to recognize the change in tenses. Note the past tense. Also note that the translation undercuts your original question so you are now trying to reframe.
As to the specific object of the message, many commentators point to Hezekiah.
No, I'm not Jewish but I consider myself Israelite, of the Tribe of Joseph (I am Joseph, your brother). So why won’t you answer : Were you a Jew who then decided to “accept” Jesus?
I know you’re not Jewish NOW, but were you raised as a Jew?No, I'm not Jewish but I consider myself Israelite, of the Tribe of Joseph (I am Joseph, your brother).
I follow the early Jerusalem Church as best I can, not the Roman Church which I continually call "christianized paganism"
Jews are wrong about many things, but I don't hold it against them. It's their problem, not mine. You mean Jews who dare express the beliefs on their religion? How DARE they share their views instead of just shutting up while Christians mock them.
Maybe you should direct your hostility toward Christians who enjoy repeatedly telling Jews they are wrong or, as you like to say, “incomplete.” You think THAT is an acceptable thing to tell Jews?
I say YOU are misguided.
Jesus called the Pharisee that, not all Jews. And we’ve had Christians on this forum tell us that Jews are the children of Satan. In fact, isn’t that in your Gospels?
Christians are wrong about many things, but that’s their problem.Jews are wrong about many things, but I don't hold it against them. It's their problem, not mine.![]()
Questionable, but whatever. The fact is that only a sliver of the world’s Jews during the time of Jesus even heard of the guy.Jesus called the Pharisee that, not all Jews.
I'm a pagan? Cool. No, I'm not Jewish but I consider myself Israelite, of the Tribe of Joseph (I am Joseph, your brother).
I follow the early Jerusalem Church as best I can, not the Roman Church which I continually call "christianized paganism"
And you pray for more murdered Pali babies. No, I'm not Jewish but I consider myself Israelite, of the Tribe of Joseph (I am Joseph, your brother).
I follow the early Jerusalem Church as best I can, not the Roman Church which I continually call "christianized paganism"
We have some bold Jews here who like to debate Christianity in a Christian country (you have that right here). But what is the Jewish response to this? Honestly just curious. Someone BORN of Man will be called "the Mighty God"
True.Christians are wrong about many things, but that’s their problem.
