Duty Calls: Vietnam veterans to receive pins in appreciation of war duty.

During the Vietnam War (1954–1973), Soviet involvement was indirect but significant. Soviet advisors and technicians operated surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems and trained North Vietnamese forces. Estimates suggest that approximately 3,000 American aircraft were shot down over North Vietnam, with a portion attributed to Soviet-operated SAMs.
Say nothing about intelligence and NRBC-units. Agent Orange wasn't the only poison Americans used against Vietnamese people, you know.

This isn't the first time you've tried to distance yourself from your country's long, bloody British heritage of murder and colonialism.

It's exactly the response I expected you would give again. :laughing0301:
I am not trying anything, i am doing it unlike you who are fully on board with your Country's violent Imperialism.

How did you get the silly idea i support the Colonial History of Britain? unlike many people from Your Country who support your history of Imperialism, wonder if the families of the 68000 dead Americans think they are small potatoes? and i believe it was 58000.
Some Americans are so clueless they really think their nation imposing its will militarily and otherwise, is perfectly acceptable. We’re the indispensable nation after all. Lol.

You made the mistake.

When the US general told General Giap, "We won all the battles." Giap told him, "Tough titties, we won the war," or words to that effect.
If Giap had been American or European there would be monuments in every town to him, no doubt he was a great military General.

Seen it before the Ubermench mentality, my Country right or wrong which is a ridiculous mentality that led to Dachau and Mi Lai and many other events and now to the Gaza Genocide.

Not really with the Gulags because i can't remember the Soviets promoting racial superiority, the reservations without doubt.
Sure, they went after nationalities and ethnic groups they did not like, as well.

No one did it as well as the Nazis, though.

You tell me you invested enough money and blood into the place.
War Is a Good Investment; Invest Your Workers' Sons

Never trust publicized slogans. "War is a good investment; invest your son" proves that the protesters were agents of Chickenhawks. Here, they sneak in the Big Lie that a plutocrat rich enough to buy a lot of shares in the defense industry would get his son drafted. Never happened, which is Capital Treason.

Another example: "The blind leading the blind" implies that the American people are stupid and need to be led by the idols of whoever spouts that elitist slogan. If truth could be told instead of sold, the reality is "The blind leading those they blinded."

Though in fairness the VC were heavily armed .
They knew how to throw rocks and spears and were so brave in the face of Nalpalm .
There was actually 2 types of warfare waged by the Vietnamese.

In the south part of the country there was the Viet Cong who blended into the civilian population. But were very adapt at using unconveintial hit-and-run guerrilla tactics and booby traps.

In the northern part of the country there was the NVA (North Vietnam Army)
They were well trained hard core soldiers who refused to surrender and fought to the death.
They were equipped with modern soviet weapons. Making them a formidable adversary.

Wrong. There was no combat in North Vietnam. Both the VC and NVA operated all over South Vietnam and the NVA operated freely in Laos and Cambodia with the tacit consent of the governments. The VC were armed with everything from first line Soviet weapons to left-overs from the French like Mat-49 and Mas-38 submachine guns as well as anything issued to the ARVNs that could be stolen, captured or bought on the black market.

Get a grip Poindexter.
I was talking about the southern and northern parts of South Vietnam.

You’re still wrong. The NVA fought all over the country.
Pointless argument. After Tet, it was all NVA all the way.

We beat the reds back and the press said it was a loss, because the enemy was not as weak as Westmoreland had said earlier in the war and on the edge of defeat. That came back to bite everybody in the butt.

I never said they didn't.
But the majority of the NVA soldiers primarily fought along the demilitarized zone (DMZ) in the northern area of South Vietnam.
They also had strongholds in the heavily forested mountainous region of the Central Highland in the middle of the country.

The NVA also fought extensively in the south. They found it easier to circumvent the northern part of SVN. It was a choke point. Why fight in the north if they could just walk around it to the south. The US was discouraged from taking any action in Laos or Cambodia. We made limited excursions into those countries but that was about it.
