Duty Calls: Vietnam veterans to receive pins in appreciation of war duty.

The VC cheated. They were good at using terrorist tactics against the cities and villages in the South, like putting bombs in market places and systematically-murdering village chiefs and other civilians who tried to oppose them. They also tortured prisoners, which is against the Geneva Convention.

If we fight like America we will lose... so we must fight like Vietnamese.

Gen. Giap
America needs to understand that there are no rules to war. It isn't a game.

Exploitation of what? Rice? :laughing0301:
This could be the reason.

Located in Southeast Asia, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has an abundant wealth of natural resources including coal, bauxite, oil and gas deposits, copper, hydropower, and timber. The main mineral exports in the country are coal and petroleum.

Which is why all those Big Corporations have pretty much covered that country a long with the cheap labor there making all kinds of profit.
So much for it being a communist country more like Corporate Fascism.

You tell me you invested enough money and blood into the place.

68,000 American soldiers dying is small potatoes compared to how many British soldiers died during your colonialist period. No exact number is known, but estimates range between hundreds of thousands to millions.

So don't talk to me about imperialism and colonialism. We've never attempted to subjugate a country and install our own rule over it, as opposed to you Brits. The British Empire killed 165 million people in India alone, in only 40 years. And that was just one country.

Sure, I saw a Philco-Ford plant in Danang.

Well you should be celebrating then if they have left communism behind.

How did you get the silly idea i support the Colonial History of Britain? unlike many people from Your Country who support your history of Imperialism, wonder if the families of the 68000 dead Americans think they are small potatoes? and i believe it was 58000.

Does this include Vietnam War Era veterans as well?

Yes, Vietnam War Era veterans are included in this recognition. The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 designates March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day, honoring all veterans who served during the Vietnam War era, which spans from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975. This includes those who served in Vietnam as well as those who served elsewhere during that time.

Hail to our veterans!

The Nation salutes you.

Will Trump get one, as he had his own personal Vietnam?

I think you are confusing Britain's Imperialism with the US because the US told you where you could shove your imperialism.
BULLSHIT.webp

Just giving you the facts which seems to trigger you.
LMAO, sure. BTW, what country did the US take by force and make their gov't compulsory without provocation? Now the UK on the other hand is doing it to Ireland even today. Does the name Oliver Cromwell ring any bells in your imperialistic head?

????? Where in my post did I say anyone cheated? You really need to get outside of your own pin head and start reading and comprehending the printed word. Jose didn't say the US cheated either. He said the VC cheated.
You need to read more carefully. I corrected Jose. And there is no cheating in war.

I think I made that ^^^ abundantly clear in my post. When you attack a person for a post they made that you agree with, it is customary that you acknowledge your mistake--not compound it and try to shift blame when offense is taken. But that would be too simple for a simple minded democrat to understand.

This isn't the first time you've tried to distance yourself from your country's long, bloody British heritage of murder and colonialism.

It's exactly the response I expected you would give again. :laughing0301:

You made the mistake.

When the US general told General Giap, "We won all the battles." Giap told him, "Tough titties, we won the war," or words to that effect.

No, there were no US troops involved in the defeat of the RVN by the Soviet supplied and trained new PRVN army. People like you prevented the US from using air power to support the RVN as we had promised when the Paris Peace Accords were signed. The PRVN operated first line Soviet and Chinese equipment often operated by Russian and Chinese soldiers.
Actually, those were people like Lee Xi-Qing (Lisitsyn) who prevented active usage of American air power in skies of Vietnam.

During the Vietnam War (1954–1973), Soviet involvement was indirect but significant. Soviet advisors and technicians operated surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems and trained North Vietnamese forces. Estimates suggest that approximately 3,000 American aircraft were shot down over North Vietnam, with a portion attributed to Soviet-operated SAMs.
