CBS: Climate Change CAUSED the Tonga Volcanic Eruption

There have been hypothesis that reducing the ice load on continents may well make it easier for volcanoes to erupt.

You can calm your pretty little head. Isostatic Rebound and Isostatic Depression takes thousands of years to happen.

I suggest you scroll down to section 7 and look for words, such as, uncertainty, unknown, not-known, lack of, poorly understood etc... Volcanoes do effect the planets weather, but not in the time frame of alarmists.

You utter thick........... rhymes with hunt. Why are you so gullible? Is it because you're old and poorly educated?

This was Not '60 Minutes' on the topic.

That's nice, but the paper covers more than that. Upon reading it, seem like maybe you don't have any idea what you are talking about. For example, they list 40 recent eruptions directly connected to disturbance of ice.

Gotta love it with the stupids chime in and prove their abysmal stupidity.

Do volcanoes affect weather?

Yes, volcanoes can affect weather and the Earth's climate. Following the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines, cooler than normal temperatures were recorded worldwide and brilliant sunsets and sunrises were attributed to this eruption that sent fine ash and gases high into the stratosphere, forming a large volcanic cloud that drifted around the world. The sulfur dioxide (SO2) in this cloud -- about 22 million tons -- combined with water to form droplets of sulfuric acid, blocking some of the sunlight from reaching the Earth and thereby cooling temperatures in some regions by as much as 0.5 degrees Celsius. An eruption the size of Mount Pinatubo could affect the weather for several years.
A similar phenomenon occurred in 1815 with the cataclysmic eruption of Tambora Volcano in Indonesia, the most powerful eruption in recorded history. Tambora's volcanic cloud lowered global temperatures by as much as 3 degrees Celsius. Even a year after the eruption, most of the northern hemisphere experienced sharply cooler temperatures during the summer months. In parts of Europe and in North America, 1816 was known as "the year without a summer."

No one is arguing that volcanoes don’t effect the weather.
They are arguing that global warming creates volcanoes.

60 minutes? they are qualified climate scientists? hahahahahahahahahaha can't make up the deflections.

Only 60 minutes is allowed to comment on the world? hahahahahahaahahahahaa again. dude, you're a fking nutjob.

what do you supposed happened when the twin towers fell on 9/11? Holy fk that weight shift must have been awesome to the underwater volcanoes. How about when all those bombs dropped in WWII? How about all that nuclear testing? and bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima? Nope, had be a glacier melt due to climate. hahahahaahahahahahahahahhha. BTW, the ice melted because of the sun.

WTF?
Thats not what was said, they said climate change made the volcano erupt.

And Al Gore can’t even spell science yet he’s your spokesman.

It doesn't take a genius to see the connection. Underwater volcanic activity heats the water near it. Warmer water will result in ice in the region melting.
