The erroneous understanding of indulgences aside...we do offer prayers on behalf of those who have passed on, as Catholic belief is that members of the Body of Christ include all who believe, not just those living on earth who believe.
Starting in 1993, members of Historic Adventist splinter groups paid to have anti-Catholic billboards that called the pope "the Anti-Christ" placed in various cities on the West Coast, including along Interstate 5 from Portland to Medford, Oregon, and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
One such group took out an anti-Catholic ad on Easter Sunday in The Oregonian, in 2000, as well as in newspapers in Coos Bay, Oregon, and in Longview and Vancouver, Washington. Mainstream Seventh-day Adventists denounced the advertisements. The contract for the last of the billboards in Oregon ran out in 2002.
Philip Jenkins, an Episcopalian historian, maintains that some who otherwise avoid offending members of racial, religious, ethnic or gender groups have no reservations about venting their hatred of Catholics.
Purgatory/Purification after death was known before Jesus' time, and he indeed referenced it. The reason some Christian denominations see no need of it is their variation of the meanings of justification/sanctification. That belief is that if one claims Jesus as Lord and Savior, then all God sees in them is Jesus' sanctification/justification--in matters of sanctification/justification/righteousness they are now equal to Jesus in the Father's eyes.
Catholicism teaches the belief that sanctification/justification/righteousness is from Jesus. Believing in him and following the Way of salvation he taught leads to our own sanctification/justification/righteousness. In other words, when the Father looks at us, he sees us, not just his Son. That leads to, "Jesus is fully righteous, but what if, when we die, we are not?" God loves us, we belong to him, and our final purification (purging of sin) can take place after death for those who love God and wish to be fully in his presence. (Remember, sin cannot exist in the presence of God, any more than darkness can exist in the presence of light.)
Thanks. You show how little Catholics follow scripture and fabricate their own rules, motivated by profit as you can simply buy people out your purgatory for a nominal fee.
What did Jesus say to the criminal on the cross next to him?

Why would anyone believe the Catholic leadership that sided with Hitler and believes the Bible is outdated and irrelevant think the Catholic leadership has sided with Satan?

And add to the fact you believe your Catholic cult is responsible for saying who’s a saint or not and spitting on the Bible by doing so only further validates the OP.

I'm guessing you are equating the Hebrew/Aramaic "Paradise" with Heaven. Keep in mind three days later Jesus asked Mary Magdalene not to touch him as he had not yet ascended to the Father. Paradise usually referred to a garden, perhaps one outside the gates of heaven.

When Catholics study the Bible, care is taken for study to include the languages and cultures of the authors. The meanings of the words used by original authors had not evolved into the meaning of words used fifteen years later in the King James interpretation, words which have changed further in the last four hundred years. Using today's translation/interpretation is behind the criticism of the Catholic faith because Catholics still use the traditional definitions of the Biblical/Apostolic era.

I favor study over reading, which is why our understanding of all the above differs. Apostolic oral traditions (which were prior to the Bible's written traditions) also contribute to these differences.
Purification and Paradise, as far as I know, is not the same place--much on the order that Paradise and Heaven are not the same place. Paradise is often described as a garden, or a place of rest and refreshment.
