Of course I didnt watch all of it.I did have a low expectation of Biden, TNHarley. I was shocked by his competence and composure under fire. That once he used the word "SARS," when he meant "Covid-19," and then immediately corrected himself, is utterly insignificant. That you highlight that nothing slip shows you really did not watch the whole debate or are just taking a cheap partisan shot.
Also, the "poll" at the beginning of this thread is absurd. The third choice -- they both lost the debate, only Trump won -- should be balanced by a fourth, something like "They both looked good, only Trump lost."

Actually, the debate was very interesting. I was rather surprised how sharp Biden was. I expected him to show incompetence, but he was in full control of himself and showed he can still think clearly and argue effectively. Not that I agree with mainstream DNC politics, but I have to give him his due.
Bernie Sanders hit him hard talking about the structural problems of our society and the need to -- really -- "drain the swamp" of big money interests that have in every area hurt working people and destroyed genuine government of, by, and for the people. Without a live audience and being just the two of them it was much the best debate of all, as they addressed aggressively each other's programs and were forced to answer each other's criticisms directly.
A lot of attention was paid to the Covid-19 crisis, which young folks tend to not take seriously. So did Trump, until recently. It is deadly serious for us older folks, the very rich and powerful and the unprotected poor alike. Serious for our hospitals and medical personnel. And it is the immediate trigger for real cascading destruction of our economy, which was so artificially inflated before that it is now collapsing like a punctured balloon. There are no quick answers here. We are going to pay a very high price for our lack of preparation and arrogance. The "underlying economy" was never strong but always based on artificially created money and credit creation.
I was sad that so little attention was paid to international matters (like our endless war in the Gulf), except in terms of Coronavirus. Bernie handled the phoney accusations against him in regard to Castro and dictators very well and rationally, something sorely missing on the right.
All in all a substantial debate.
I guess we have different viewpoints. To me Biden sounded like an idiot. He has a life of failure and he points to those failures as though they were successes and those asshole CNN reporters didn't challenge him on his record. Then the fact he is corrupt as the day is long.
