Interesting Opinion, puts Obama's personal attacks on us tea party people into international perspective very well.

Obama’s problem is that he does not know who the enemy is. To him, the enemy does not squat in caves in Waziristan, clutching automatic weapons and reciting the more militant verses from the Koran: instead, it sits around at tea parties in Kentucky quoting from the US Constitution. Obama is not at war with terrorists, but with his Republican fellow citizens. He has never abandoned the campaign trail.

That is why he opened Pandora’s Box by publishing the Justice Department’s legal opinions on waterboarding and other hardline interrogation techniques. He cynically subordinated the national interest to his partisan desire to embarrass the Republicans. Then he had to rush to Langley, Virginia to try to reassure a demoralised CIA that had just discovered the President of the United States was an even more formidable foe than al-Qaeda.

He has riuned a level of trust he was given by default among those in the IC.

And, it's good for the international community to get an idea of the level of divisiveness that is currently the case here. They need to know.

Or maybe he (rightly) figured out that shining light on it rather than continuing the ducking, dodging and lying of the past administration was the best thing to do to restore public trust.

Perhaps the Teabaggers have some blame in this animosity with their inability to accept that their party failed utterly in the last election leaving them no recourse but to act in the same squalling spoiled brat style as their Democratic predecessors did when Bush won?

If the President hasn't the trust of the IC (and he has effectively lost a lot of trust), his ability to do his job is seriously impaired.

The protests have nothing to do with the election. BHO won, get over it.

If kidnapping, torture and murder aren't "real" enough crimes to prosecute, why the fuck do you even have a Justice Department?

Shows you dont understand the Tea Party Protestors anymore than the fringe media and online o-bots have told you, we dont support the republicans.

kind of reminds me of the days when the Repubs spent $80 million of taxpayers cash on investigating Clinton when they had no proof of any crime and all they came up with was a blowjob.

"Clinton recounted that he once pulled aside Alan Simpson, the senior Republican senator, to ask him whether he really believed that the president had done something terrible in Whitewater. Simpson's response: "Oh, hell no. But our goal is to make people think you did, so we can pay you Democrats back for Iran-contra."

Excerpt:
CIA Director Leon Panetta has terminated a "very serious" covert program the spy agency kept secret from Congress for eight years, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, a House Intelligence subcommittee chairwoman, said Friday. Democrats revealed late Tuesday that CIA Director Leon Panetta had informed members of the House Intelligence Committee on June 24 that the spy agency had been withholding important information about a secret intelligence program begun after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Schakowsky described Panetta as "stunned" that he had not been informed of the program until nearly five months into his tenure as director.

Cheney to CIA: Hide secret program
Link
Excerpt:
Cheney directed the CIA eight years ago not to inform Congress about a nascent counterterrorism program that CIA Director Leon Panetta terminated in June. Cheney played a central role in overseeing Bush's illegal spying program that was the subject of an inspectors general report this past week. Cheney's chief of staff, David Addington, personally decided who in Bush's inner circle could even know about the secret program.

So, we get confirmation that Panetta's NOT running the CIA - so who is?
Who decides what programs the Director is allowed to know about?
Who's really pulling the strings at our out-of-control spy agency?
cheney-grab.jpg

It would seem that Chenery and the BFEE have their own secret government - accountable to nobody. Might as well have Lee Hamilton look into this latest litany of serious crimes.
hamilton-whitewash.jpg

Cheney and Addington should do time in prison for this - but Obama and the sissy Democrats will let them off the hook - want to gamble on that? If they don't put Cheney and Addington in prison for this, they will be giving the Republicans an iron-clad guarantee that NOTHING THEY DO could possibly be serious enough to be considered a crime worthy of punishment.
Torture? No problem.
Kidnapping? No problem.
Murder? No problem.
Rape? No problem.
Raping children in front of their parents? No problem.
Invasion for profit? No problem.
Secret spying on lawful Americans? No problem.
Keeping secrets from the CIA Director? No problem.
Keeping secrets from the Congress? No problem.
Keeping secrets from the President? No problem.

Meanwhile, if they suspect Obama has a girlfriend they'll impeach him
and the fucking Democrats will go on TV and call him a scumbag..

...and what else don't we know that we don't know?
What other crimes will come to light that the Dems will not be outraged by?

panetta-lie.jpg
Panetta has no idea what's going on at the CIA.
He only knows what Cheney wants him to know.

I asked you this on the other thread...what did he say that was a personal attack on the teabaggers?

Uniformed
False/lying
He told us to Shut up and Get out of the way by telling those who are trying to represent some of our views the same thing.

3 off the top of my head.

Link? No offense, but I don't believe he's attacked or even mentioned the teabaggers.

CIA’s Lies Should Have Congress In Open Revolt
by someone who's not familiar with today's Democratds
Link
Excerpt:
"If this were the democracy that the Founding Fathers thought they were creating, word from CIA Director Leon Panetta that his agency had lied to Congress and specifically that it had lied repeatedly from 9-11 through the end of 2008 concerning an as-yet undisclosed secret program, would have virtually every member of Congress in a state of rebellion, demanding answers. After all, the CIA is required by law to report to at least the majority and minority leaders of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees and to the majority and minority leaders of both houses of Congress about such things. But not only did the spy agency not report on what it was up to; it lied about what it was up to.

Yeah, "those waiving tea bags around" is a biting personal attack. :cuckoo:

I didn't realize, if the second video is aimed at the teabaggers, that the teabaggers were responsible for the financial meltdown.

Amazing what can be learned at USMB.
