Former President Carter

Well, we're not a mindless cult like the GOP, that's the thing.

You see, when Carter was voted out, we took stock of what he did wrong and didn't repeat it. He still deserves the respect for doing the job under difficult circumstances, but his presidency was a failure.

As opposed to the Bleach-drinkers, who look at Trump's failed presidency and say, "Yeah, let's do that again, because Second Terms are always worse than first terms!"

Even Reagan afterwards held speaking engagements after he left office that were charged millions of dollars per speech.

Carter never did that....although I don't think he could get any.

Carter volunteered his time after he left office
Right....like I said, Carter was honest. Not the sharpest tool in the shed or much of a leader but at least honest....which is somewhat better than those who have come after.

Many before him were honest too. But I'm unaware of any following that can make the same claim.

Carter was one of our most intelligent leaders
A Nuclear Engineer

won't be at Trumps inauguration,

but NOT because he doesn't want to.

He's been in Hospice for 2 years due to his cancer problems.

at least he has the balls to say he would be there and not snubbing the newly elected president.

How many are going to snub him?

I think its the furthest depts of degredation to be carting old Jimmy around like prop gimmick everywhere they go.

Even though he's a Dem, he doesn't deserve to be used like a cigar store indian statue. It's beyond degrading and sick.

Carter hasn’t left the house in years except for medical treatment

Really? Trump is the only outgoing president to NOT attend the "hand off" inauguration to the succeeding president.

F#cking Red Hat Morons...

I was sitting on Diego Garcia, waiting to see if the NMCB Battalion I was in was going to visit the Shah if Carter was reelected, and my mom wanted my opinion on the election.

she wanted to know if I thought the Actor, or the Comedian was going to win
Cool, I was at Pier 9, 32nd Street Naval Station watching the smoke as Tijuana burned.

Already I've seen the usual lies about Carter from conservatives, but they don't know anything about the man, just like they don't know anything about the man who replaced him.

You want to learn just how good he actually was as a President, you can watch this, and remember, he was so far ahead of his time that if he were elected in 2024 instead of 1976 he would still be ahead of the times.

He was preaching conservation instead of consumption, and he was crucified for this by conservatives. It's not hard to figure out why.

Dazed Malaise

Do you remember the time he almost started WW3 by having a nuclear exchange with the Soviet Union? (Soviet invasion of Afghanistan)

Remember how he embarrassed us on the world stage multiple times? Once with the Hostage Crisis rescue and then the fiasco with the Panama Canal? (Not that he gave it back but who he installed as "presidente" of Panama)

Then there was the issue of the Federal Reserve nominations....he absolutely refused to appoint people who were interested in domestic industry. (Strong dollar policy) making imports dirt cheap and exports too expensive....making the US lose tons of jobs.
Either John Deere or CAT went bankrupt.

Reagan was pretty honest. :rolleyes-41:

Yellow Peanut Brittle

The unpatriotic coward chose nuke duty because he knew those ships would never be used in combat.

He was eligible to fight in World War II in June, 1942. He weaseled out of that by arranging to sit out the war at the Naval Academy. Which makes me curious about whether the other countries in the war had that way of dodging the draft.
