In simple words, you favor Democracy, right?
YepIn simple words, you favor Democracy, right?
You'd have to define what they all mean in detail. We had "democracy" already under democrats where they issued mask mandates, vaccine mandates, they wouldn't allow their citizens to leave the house unless they carried their vaccine papers, want to take first and second amendment rights away, rounded up those who protest and jailed them just for being there, and weaponized the justice system in order to take out their political opponents.Again, you are talking about the PAST and throwing blame. Answer the OP question. What do you want, Aristocracy or Democracy
Even though you must know it doesn’t work and usually devolves into rule by elite.
For some weird reason, they don't want to just admit that the term "democracy" is simply a VERY commonly used catch-all for people being able to vote for their representatives, which includes representative republics. It's a representative Democracy. Stop being an idiot.
Well, at least I am smarter than you, so that is a plusI would say you're just another ai bot. Are you really this dumb?
It's just to contrast what we have from pure or unlimited democracy. We use democracy as a tool to elect representatives who, in turn, use democracy to make decisions.I don't know why they need to parse the word like that. Maybe they just want to quibble.

On the other hand, we've also already had aristocracy already where both parties accept bribes from the rich in order to pass policy and laws. That predates Trump, if that is what you are trying to imply. Even just recently, we had the elites kick a president out of office and install their own democrat nominee without even holding a primary to elect her. And, on the last day of the DNC we saw that democrat nominee standing with a bunch of millionaires and billionaires, all chanting, "We're not going back".
So you voted for Autocracy and one person calling the shots without accountability, right?Democracy is the tryanny of the mob.
Even less desirable would be the masses making decisions. Democracy is as authoritarian as any form of government, but worse because stupid people control it.I dont want our elected presidents to have any power or ability to make decisions.
So you voted for Autocracy and one person calling the shots without accountability, right?
By the way, would you feel the same if Biden became the Autocrat and would not be able to be taken out of office?
After all, when voting for Autocracy, your vote doesn't count. You have to live with whoever is the leader................no matter what!!

Use the Constitution as a guideline.
Aristocracy means one man running the show with no possible consequences attached. We have not had that ever

Now, convicted criminals were pardoned by Trump, he is trying to get judges that have ruled against him thrown out and he said this 3 days ago when questioned about upholding his oath of office of upholding the Constitution. He said "I don't know". That is what an Aristocrat would say.
Many of those who went after Trump had run campaigns to get themselves elected by saying they would "get Trump". So, we know how things are politically motivated. Hell, most polls showed that the various charges against Trump from several different places were all politically motivated.
And, the Jan 6th committee was also formed to "get Trump", with nothing but anti-Trumpers on the committee and the structure set up so that only one side of the story is investigated and that narrative was the only narrative coming out of the committee and democrats controlled that entire process so that that would be the only narrative coming out of the committee.
But, your responses only prove that your poll was set up with a bias in mind.
Bottom line is about the Constitution. Do people want to support that or not. The Constitution offers checks and balances that prevent any one person doing what they want. Trump has been doing Autocratic actions, meaning he is going against the Constitution. Should we allow it or not? You're talking past each other.
When conservatives* hear "democracy", they hear 'the kind of government Democrats want". And they see that as pervasive government, involved in all aspects of society. They don't want that, so they bristle at any suggestion that we're a democracy.
*I'm referring here to traditional conservatives. While they might use some of the same words, even some of the same arguments, maga people are not traditional conservatives.
