Surrendering to the State the power to kill its citizens in cold blood, or politicians and bureaucrats seizing control of wombs, may be the most egregious examples of rabid, creeping statism, but those who are hellbent upon ceding our freedoms to Big Mother are intent upon pervasive State control.

Currently, a large majority of countries have either abolished or discontinued the primitive practice of capital punishment, but pariah nations - China, Iran, North Korea, Yemen and United States - persist in snuffing out the lives of the poor who are convicted of capital offenses. The State - whose power over life and death is absolute - is infallible!

States goose-stepping toward totalitarianism dictate to local communities in public health matters, suppress the free speech of free market entities and educators, ban books, and strive to give absolute authority over personal, private matters such as reproduction to impersonal, faceless state lackeys.

Typically, democratic elections are not respected, and even trashed, by autocratic despots, of course.

The autocratic metastasis spreads, but is encountering resistance, both patriotic and practical:

FASCISM: a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and the economy, typically facilitated by a cult of personality.

Your whining means we're doing something right.

Fascists always believe they're "doing something right", of course in dictating to individuals, businesses, local communities, educators, scientists, public health professionals, etc., etc. etc.

One critical area in which conservatives take violent exception to the authoritarians is the free market.

State impositions upon that sector are anathema to laissez faire economics.

Death dictators - China, Iran, North Korea, Yemen and United States - by the company you keep.

I know, commies are the worst!

Give me a break. Thug in New York city carjacks someone, fractures his face with brass knuckles and walks with a
misdemeanor. In San Francisco you can steal up to 900 dollars and walk with a misdemeanor, or break into peoples cars just the same.

Progressives ARE the new tyranny for the rest of us. You make crime profitable and excusable then crime grows and becomes a way of life for the poor instead of trying to make their lives better. Progressives create more crime, end up taking more lives all the while their heads are in the clouds or up their ass, then they move on to the next place to destroy.
Go hate the U.S. somewhere else

Abortion is the ultimate capital punishment

They just want the authority over you. It's only authoritarian when the other side does it.

As long as you are getting your mandated vaccines and wearing your mandated masks, you can be the authoritarian.

Here is a shocker. There are reasonable and fair arguments against a death penalty. But there are also reasonable and fair arguments for a death penalty.

I am a conservative and therefore I generally check my own thought process and seek to avoid the substitution of emotionalism for genuine thought. I value the law. And after a lot of thought I end up (overall) generally against a death penalty. However, I also happen to believe that there are cases where the imposition of a death penalty is both warranted and maybe even necessary.

The way I see it is that this issue is thorny and it is usually better to err on the side of caution. If there was never another legal execution in our Republic, I wouldn’t lose a bit of sleep over that fact. But if we retain that sentence as an option for a few select kinds of cases and circumstances, that too wouldn’t bother me at all.

A fucking leftist whining about authoritarianism
Is there a shortage of mirrors or something? Holy fuck

Exactly. Just like they are concerned about censorship now that Musk is buying Twitter. Only in the mind of a leftist does opening up free speech dictate censorship. Or all the whining and crying they can't indoctrinate our 5 to 8 year old Florida children about sex and weirdos in dresses. They fought tooth and nail to remove God out of school, and replaced God with sex freaks and weirdos.

Thank goodness they are fighting fascism and authoritarianism, huh?

Not sure what that has to do with authoritarian govt policies like forced gestation.
It has everything to do with taking a human life in the womb

or to put it another way, protecting human life not yet born
