Testimony of a former UnitedHealthcare employee who says she worked under CEO Brian Thompson

Health Care Providers had DENIED claims for decades.
This ^^^^ is NOT an Obamacare cause.
It is a corrupt system of Greed.
Which Obamacare did not fix, even though the decades of greed was the reason given to pass Obamacare.

You never did say what you did with the extra $2500 that Obama promised you?

Don't tell me he stiffed you?

What more do you want them to do?
I never wanted the ACA to do anything. I was fine, I liked my doctor so I was keeping my doctor. I liked my plan so I was keeping my plan.

I would think - at a minimum for such a complete government over-reach - at least the healthcare insurance providers Obamacare regulated would be stopped from denying claims for no good reason.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) provides enforcement mechanisms to address insurance companies that improperly or frivolously deny claims. Under the ACA, health insurance companies are required to adhere to specific standards regarding the processing of claims and the rights of consumers. Here's how the ACA enforces these provisions:
  1. Appeals Process: The ACA mandates that insurers must provide a clear, timely, and transparent internal appeals process. If a claim is denied, consumers have the right to know why and to challenge the decision.
  2. External Review: Beyond the internal appeals, the ACA establishes the right to an independent external review. This means if the insurer upholds their denial after the internal appeal, consumers can have an independent third party review the decision.
  3. Regulatory Oversight: The ACA enhances the role of federal and state regulators in overseeing insurance practices. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and state insurance departments monitor compliance and can take action against insurers that violate the law.
  4. Penalties and Corrective Actions: Insurers that do not comply with the ACA's requirements may face penalties, including fines and corrective action plans. In severe cases, they can be barred from participating in health insurance marketplaces.
  5. Consumer Protections: The ACA prohibits certain practices, such as denying coverage for pre-existing conditions or imposing lifetime limits on essential health benefits, which helps reduce unjust claim denials.
  6. Transparency Requirements: Insurers must provide clear explanations for claim denials, including the specific reasons and any relevant policies or guidelines used in the decision-making process.
If you believe an insurance company is frivolously denying claims, you can:
  • File an Internal Appeal: Start by following your insurer's appeal process.
  • Request an External Review: If the internal appeal is unsuccessful, request an independent external review.
  • Contact Regulatory Authorities: Report the insurer to your state insurance department or the HHS for further investigation.
Resources:
  • Healthcare.gov: Appeals
  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services: Consumer Assistance
By providing these enforcement mechanisms, the ACA aims to protect consumers from unjust practices and ensure fair treatment by insurance companies.
If all that is true, then United Healthcare really has stopped denying claims wrongfully?

So, what was Mangione upset about?

Obviously, flops don't remember what HC in the US was before the PPACA.

You just have maybe a concept.

You make ZERO sense. I have Private Group Insurance.
The Exact same plan I had before and after So-Called Obamacare

You are a teacher....you are under the SAME PLAN, and are not under Obamacare.

This the dodge all Obama-mammas use.

ALL - 100% - of health insurance in the United States is regulated by the Affordable Care Act. My insurance became more expensive immediately when Obamacare was passed, both in premiums and co-pay. The only part of Obamcare that I was spared is that the coverage did not worsen. Many are not so lucky.

When you decide to force insurance companies to ensure for unlimited "gedner affirmation treatment," someone has to bear the cost of that.

Poster fail ^^^^^^

Idiot meter spiked too ludicrous.

Me too.

So WHAT is your primary beef with Obamacare. Which you call a disaster.
See Below.
Why does "Obamacare Suck the Big One." You don't have it.

1. As Dennis Kucenich noted, it isn't what we needed as a country. We needed UHC.

2. As already noted the Insurance and Pharmaceutical companies should have had absolutely nothing to do with writing it.

3. It in no way addressed the cost side and we are seeing the ramifications of that.

4. It was lied into existence.

And insurance companies have no share in this mess correct?
It should be fairly obvious after the whole C19 debauchery that Big insurance and Big Pharma runs government , not the other way round

This is the key dif in UHC

And why single payer was taken off the table with little fanfare back when O-care was being legislated

Didn't I read somewhere that some big company was limiting anethesia claims due to time? Can someone justify this?
