You know who you are, you are the allegory man!!!

You can't explain something in the Bible, so it instantly becomes allegory so you can better digest the Bible.

So, where do you draw the line when it comes to miracles in the Bible when it comes to allegory?

Which of the following do you consider allegory?

1. Creation account.

2. The Great Flood.

3. The tower of Babel

4. Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone

5. Plagues in Egypt.

6. Parting of the Red Sea, and for all the anal retentive types regarding the authenticity and accuracy of the original Hebrew, the party of the Sea of Reeds.

7. God giving the Hebrew people manna to eat out of thin air.

8. Elijah being taken up to heaven in a chariot.

9. Jonah being swallowed by a whale for 3 days and then spat out and survived.

10. The powers of the Ark of the Covenant.

Or maybe you think that God himself is an allegory

Your other options, of course, are either trying to scientifically explain all or some of these events or space aliens done it.

Go!!!

Do you read these accounts literally?

Do you believe George Washington chopped down a cherry tree? Or was the point of that account that George Washington was honest?

All of them are presented in the form of an allegory.

I’m showing you how authors use embellishment to make accounts more memorable. George Washington chopping down a cherry tree is a perfect analogy. It wasn’t the point of the story. It was an embellishment used to make the point of the story.

So, you believe that miracles like creation occurred?
I dont believe in miracles and the message of Genesis is we are empowered to control our own lives. God does not interfere. Miracle is term used when we cant explain an event of the church needs more donations

They could have just said the George Washington was a very honest person.

So, you believe in a God that never performs miracles?

Why is God himself not an allegory then?

As for not understanding something, I'm good with that as I know enough to know I don't understand most things and never will along with the rest of humanity. But I realize it drives some plum nutty like yourself.

Given that the earth and all the life that's on it is pretty miraculous against the backdrop of a lifeless universe I'd say those Bible stories are likely true.

speaking for yourself is fine ...

try something other than desert bibles, allegorical or not are misrepresentations of clear and simple understanding for life and the goals of the supernatural responsible for the spiritual existence of all living beings.

humanities suppression is a primary goal of the desert religions, forgeries and fallacies to substitute servitude and denial than for self determination through triumph over evil as a true heavenly goal.

allegorical is a language of its own in communication with the metaphysical forces in reasoning what their individual importance represent and influence over living beings and the universe.

The premise makes no sense. God is a belief an allegory is a story with meaning. Why would God perform a miracle in the first place. We are supposed tom control our destines, our lives and the outcomes we create. If God was to step in then he failed

It wouldn’t have been as entertaining and memorable.

entertaining ...

when Washington was six years old, he received a hatchet as a gift and damaged his father’s cherry tree with it. When his father discovered what George had done, he became angry. Young George bravely said, “I cannot tell a lie…I did cut it with my hatchet.” Washington’s father embraced him and declared that his son’s honesty was worth more than a thousand trees.

how can honesty be more important than a thousand trees ... does anyone ever get things right, must be another desert dweller narrative for the lame and irresponsible.

There is also the inconvenient truth of Biblical Archeology as it is the only scientific field created by a religious document that I know of. And these are not zealots of Bible veracity, rather, they simply recognize that the history has enough veracity to use it for their research.

entertaining ...

Am allegory doesnt mean a belief is wrong. Its a form of expression.
