The rapture is a "secret event" lol as if no one will notice "believers" vanishing to meet Jesus in the air, and the second coming Jesus coming down from heaven is a public event? Can't you see the absurdity of a distinction? Well, there is a big difference between the Rapture and the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ.

Rapture: Believers (the Church) are taken from the earth to meet the Lord in the air. On earth, this initiates the 7 year Tribulation period, the time of 'Jacobs Trouble'. God is now dealing again with rebellious Israel.

2nd Coming: Seven years later, at the end of the Tribulation, Jesus returns to the earth to set up the Kingdom of God upon the earth. Which He will do with great destruction upon all the unbelieving in the world, not just the Jews. The believing Jews will make up Israel, and the believing Gentiles will make up the saved nations. And the 1000 year millennium will begin with Israel as the leading nation of the world, with Jesus Christ ruling and reigning in Jerusalem. Israel will be the light to the Gentiles that God always purposed her to be.

2. The mystery of the firmament, that is, the preflood atmosphere.



It is a theological mystery as to what those waters above were, but are no more. Whatever it was, those waters more than likely came down and helped flood the globe.

In fact, ancient cultures around the globe have myth stories about the firmament, just like they do about giants and a great flood worldwide.

The 'waters above' are just the waters carried about in the clouds that produce the rains.
