Given the news scandal involving Josh Duggar I thought to start a discussion/debate about what exactly is adultery from a biblical standpoint. In the Old Testament men were permitted many more liberties in that regard than women ever have been. This is a great article outlining the definition and explaining some aspects.

Is biblical adultery the same as adultery today?

So after reading this knowing that the commandments say Do Not Commit Adultery how is it that the terms have changed and should they have changed from their original definition?

According to the Roman Catholic Church, "thou shalt not commit adultery" covers just about anything sexual that can be done other than penis-vagina sex between a married couple that is one male and one female, without using artificial methods of birth control.
