This is my other new thread that I was talking about buttercup. As like I have mentioned in other threads people are literally idolizing Trump and condoning blasphemy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 5:20 of calling evil good (like blasphemy) and good evil (like people like me speaking out against it) comes to mind here.

what trump brings to the table is how many good people become stronger in lite of the evil pervasive caused by their intolerance and willing supporters for their demonic agendas.

not close to end times when so many see the lite and are stronger for it.

- not to become their victim as occurred to jesus is the goal.

No.

Every single generation from the first Easter Sunday thinks it is the last generation.

We are no different.

According to the Book of Revelation and the revelations given to the Prophet Joseph Smith, we know that we are in the end times. Here is a part of a revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith concerning the temporal existence of this earth:

Doctrine and Covenants 77:6-7
6 Q. What are we to understand by the book which John saw, which was sealed on the back with seven seals? A. We are to understand that it contains the revealed will, mysteries, and the works of God; the hidden things of his economy concerning this earth during the seven thousand years of its continuance, or its temporal existence.
7 Q. What are we to understand by the seven seals with which it was sealed? A. We are to understand that the first seal contains the things of the first thousand years, and the second also of the second thousand years, and so on until the seventh.

The temporal existence of this earth is the time from the fall of Adam and Eve until the end of Christ's millennial reign on earth. The Book which John saw that was sealed with seven seals is mentioned in the The Book of Revelation chapter 5. Each of the seals represents a thousand year period of this earth's temporal existence. The first seal represents the first thousand years, the second seal represents the second thousand years and so on through the 7th seal. The seventh seal represents the final thousand year period with includes Christ's second coming and millennial reign on the earth. LDS scripture speak of Christ coming his second time after the opening of the seventh seal. The Book of Revelation chapter 8 speaks of the opening of the seventh seal and the events that lead up to Christ second coming.

My personal belief is that Christ came in the middle time or meridian of time which I believe was the 4th seal or the end of the 4th thousand year period of this earth's temporal existence. I believe most of his Apostles were killed during the opening of the 5th seal. If Christ died and was resurrected in the year 33 A.D., then that would have been the end of the 4th seal. This would mean that the end of the 5th seal would have occurred in 1033 A.D. and the 6th seal would have to end in the year 2033 A.D. So I believe we are in the last years of the 6th seal and in about 8 years from now the seventh seal will open. Read the Book of Revelation chapter 8 for the events that occur after the opening of the seventh seal. There is quit a list of things that are to occur before Jesus makes his second coming appearance on the earth again. These are my beliefs about the end times.

This is why it is important to understand that the seven seals represent 1000 year periods. The apostles were killed at the beginning of the fifth seal:

Revelation 6:9
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

According to Revelation 8-22, Christ does not return for his second coming until the 7th seal has already been open. Revelation 19 speaks specifically of his coming. It is a clue that if Christ's millennial reign is entirely contained within the 7th seal, Then each seal must be at least 1000 years each.

That is your opinion, I understand, but not what your Church teaches.

A. The LDS Church teaches that we are in the “last days,” but not the “final days.”

“Last days” is a broad scriptural term covering the entire period from Christ’s resurrection to His return.

LDS leaders consistently teach that:

  • We are living in the “latter days,”
  • But no one knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36),
  • And the Church does not predict the timing of the Second Coming.

B. The Church explicitly rejects date‑setting

Multiple First Presidency statements and General Conference talks emphasize:
  • Members should avoid speculation
  • The Church has no revealed timeline
  • The Second Coming will occur “in the Lord’s own due time”

C. The Church teaches to prepare spiritually, not chronologically

Preparation is framed as:
  • Faithfulness
  • Service
  • Temple worship
  • Personal discipleship
—not countdowns or generational predictions.

2. What LDS leaders

A. Early Latter‑day Saints sometimes assumed it

In the 1830s–1840s, some Saints believed the Second Coming might occur within their lifetime. This was never canonized and was later clarified.

B. Modern LDS leaders consistently correct this idea

Leaders such as:
  • President Russell M. Nelson
  • President Dallin H. Oaks
  • Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
  • Elder M. Russell Ballard
have all taught that:
  • We are closer to the Second Coming
  • But no generation has been designated
  • Members should not assume it will occur in their lifetime
President Oaks (2020):

“We do not know how soon the Second Coming will be.”

3. The following ideas are not official LDS teachings:

  • “Christ will return in this generation.”
  • “The Second Coming will happen before today’s youth grow old.”
  • “Prophets have said the end will come soon.”
  • “The Church has a timeline for the final days.”
These appear frequently in LDS culture, social media, and speculation, but they are not doctrine.

4. What the Church does teach

A. Prophecies will be fulfilled

LDS scripture describes:
  • Worldwide preaching of the gospel
  • Gathering of Israel
  • Temple building
  • Moral turbulence
  • Natural upheavals
  • A final period of tribulation
But no sequence or timing is officially defined.

B. The Church’s stance is: live prepared, not panicked

The emphasis is always:
  • Steady discipleship
  • Hope
  • Service
  • Avoiding fear‑based speculation

5. Bottom line

LDS doctrine:
  • We are in the “latter days.”
  • The Second Coming is certain.
  • Its timing is unknown.
  • No generation has been designated.
  • Members should prepare spiritually, not chronologically.
LDS culture:
  • Some members speculate about “this generation,”
  • But this is not official teaching.

Are We Currently In End Times? No.

Agree. The idea of taking Revelation literally began to take shape in the eighteenth and nineteenth century, about seventeen hundred years after the Book of Revelation was written. John wrote if for the people of his own time, but as apocryphal literature delves into spiritual truths. It is a book for all ages--for everyone who find the eternal spiritual even more enthralling than passing political shenanigans of their/our times.

It is enough if a single god exists then we can go back to history to live.

Science does not have enough evidence that gods do not exists.

Ah, that's refreshing to see a true believer not condoning Trump's stupid mistake. I'm over it now because I'm currently focused on the war with Iran and Israel and Trump doing one heck of a job with it but still, it's nice to see sane conservatives around here. :)

No lib in captivity would agree with you about that

In Lib La La Land we are not considered to be the least bit sane
