First, can we all agree that parents earning six figures should not get government support (i.e., money from other people, earning far less) to pay for their children? As it stands, someone I know has a husband earning $150,000 and six children, lives in a $1.5 million house, and she is getting $1600 a month to cover expenses for her kids.

Second, since the Dems keep saying how Biden’s expanded welfare has lifted xxx number of children out of poverty, why not limit the welfare to just those families?

Third, the payments should really be per family, not per child, since it encourages people who otherwise couldn’t afford a third or fourth child to go ahead.

My proposal, which is a COMPROMISE:

1) Go back to the limited “refund” where people got no more than $1400 MORE than they owed in tax back, rather than the entire amount. We have people getting $15,000 and $20,000 “refunded” - including welfare recipients already in subsidized housing, getting free health care, and food stamps.

2) Stop calling it a refundable tax credit (against federal income tax owed), since half the people getting it pay no taxes at all. We should call it GSFLF - Government Support for Low-Income Families.

3) It should be limited to those with household incomes of $50,000, regardless of number of children. Others are not low-income and can pay their fair share.

This program is the stepping stone to what Harris, Cortez, Sanders and many on the DSA left want and that is a government check of $2500 a month given to every U.S. Citizen while they take control of the Energy and Natural Resources of this country.

They will also implement a pay scale and limit what you can earn and will most likely take all private business and make it government ran.

So this has always been a stepping stone to that reality and once hooked the American population will want it and will give up their freedoms for that check…

I agree
We need to help those who need help.
But we need to pay more to a family supporting four kids than a family with one kid.
Also, I would say a diminished refund from $50,000 to $100,000

Manchin and Sinema can hold the evil Marxists at bay until we take Congress in a year, but it is scary that the future of our country is resting with one or two brave people who won’t submit to the bullying on the left.

But it’s that family’s decision to have more kids than they can afford. If we keep paying people per kid, they will keep having kids they can’t support.

And I’d be OK with a phase-out, but total cut-off at $75,000. No way should retirees paying taxes on their modest $40,000 incomes have to pitch in to cover the costs of a Dad earning $95,000 while Mom stays home with the 2-year-old.

Sooner or later those like Cortez and Harris will gain the power to do what I wrote and hopefully by then I am dead.

Covid was a blessing for the Democratic Party in 2020 because it caused so much damage that they took advantage of it while lying about how they could lead us better.

With Covid most likely turning into the common cold the Democratic Party is now worrying about November Mid-Term Election and wondering how to stop the possible red wave that is most likely to happen.

If Biden, Harris, Pelosi and Schumer had gotten their way the damage they would do is beyond mind blowing and America better wake itself up before the DSA take over for good and we become the United Socialist States of America where you are told how much you are worth, where you will live and work, and whom you may marry and if any word of disagreement your Social Status rating will find a negative to it limiting your ability to move around, buy and even live…

It is coming Boys, Girls and those that should just use a Unisex Bathroom!

I know….it’s beyond frightening what the anti-American Marxists, who have hijacked the Democrat Party, plan for this country.

As far as COVID turning into the common cold (a friend just told me she thought she had it last week….her nose was runny and she had a headache), the DEMS are in a panic over that. That is why Fauci just came out and said we are in Stage 1 of a 5-Stage COVID path. They are desperate to keep people in fear, businesses shuttered, and move people into government support.

My hope, as I said, is that both Manchin and Senema hold firm.

Covid 19 begans in late oct of 2019, during tramps turn.

Nobody is having kids just to get an extra thousand dollar refund.
The kids are already here, they still gotta eat

$75,000 is not a lot of money in many states

While it would still be a bad idea you could see it if there was a mandate given to congress to go ahead by the people.

A 50-50 split in the senate with a hated vapid harpy to break a tie and nearly so in the house is not even close to a mandate.

Of course the congress-critters from both "sides" are so insulated from what "the people" want it's a crime and would be if they did not make the rules to suit them. They have no shame and only cater to those who can fill their re-election coffers.

$150k is not a lot of money nowadays! I make $182k + bonus (which puts me over $200k)… with child support and maintenance payments, I struggle big time.

Manchin ain’t swaying and the Democratic Party knows this…

Manchin knows he is the last of the true Blue Dogs, so he is going to be the one that stands in the DSA way and if you read this board you can see how angry it make the DSA segment of the Democratic Party…

As I wrote a little while back why not tell people to go back to work?

Personally I believe the government would be better off spending it money on trade school education and education in fields we import people in, so the American worker can climb the ladder while helping small business owner and start up companies than give a tax credit or better yet let call it what it truly is and it is a welfare check…

Gingrich and Clinton more or less fixed the system and the DSA has broken it again and I am old and tired of this game they play…

Are you claiming Covid started in the United States of America in October of 2019?

If so please provide the satay to support your comment because the first known case was in China that your Chinese Government tried to cover up and even arrested Doctors for speaking out about it…

Absolutely. We are in full agreement.

Instead Of demanding cheap college, so that every mediocre kid can sign on to a four-year party, on our dime, and diminishing the value of a college degree, we could….

1) The top 5% in every school get a tuition-paid ride to State U, with a guaranteed work-study job, as long as they major in one of a list of marketable majors (like the STEMs).

2) The next 45% get a free ride to community college (many already do via PELL grants), and id they are near the top of their HS class, they can get a high GPA and an academic transfer scholarship to Stst U, while the so-so students can take a vocationally oriented A.A. path,

3) The bottom half of the HS gets a one-year paid certificate program, again in something marketable.

The money for this could come from cancelling Biden’s expanded welfare in which 90% of parents are getting money.

That 1600 per month is helping to keep.America from going back to work. The milking of this has to end now

On 3/1 We have to declare Covid over for the non vulnerable

People have used Covid as a crutch politically. Harmed so many people including loved ones

My God when we look back at this, it will show one big libturd conspiracy for control and power. Throwing loved ones in a volcano is for the greater good

Now you are thinking and with a working workforce taxes will be generated that will help improve infrastructure and so on, well if we had true Leander’s and not the mental midgets we have now…
