What has happened to this board?

To be followed by 100 comments about how there is nothing but trash now - and brilliant dissertations and commentary before.

The only thing that changes is the people who are asking the question.

There are a rare few that seem pretty good. But yeah, seems like we're getting lots and lots of trolls and castoffs. Who are bringing their castoff buddies with them from the bowels of cyberspace. These things go in cycles, hopefully it'll get better soon.

Oh please...one of you needs to start keeping track. Do a daily count or something. Actually, a good place to start would be with a thead started in any topic by either Truthmatters or Rdean, and just watch and count the pile-on by the right. They both draw them out from wherever they are. Then, in those same threads, count the numbers of lefties.

I agree, I just don't see very many Lefties around. I know there've been polls about it but how else can you tell other than physically counting them? Neither option very scientific.

I've been to LW sites too and found it very boring.

Fact is, and back to the OP, it really doesn't need to matter what one's personal, political beliefs are. That has NOTHING to do with manners and the ability to discuss a topic without resorting to ad hominems, red herrings and just flat out personal attacks because one's ass is getting whooped.

The fact is, there ARE more active leftwing posters on this board and they run in packs like dogs. Deny what you want. Willful blindness on your part does not negate reality.

Another fact is, before the influx of leftwingers who cannot handle the responsibility that goes with freedom of speech instead of abusing the privilege, this board was more civil.

I allow it because the ideal is correct. In practice, the left can't handle it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Your post on the issue is exactly what I have seen everywhere I have been, online and off. And especially here on USMB.

The ideal is freedom of speech and that is why this board IS so popular. We do have a lot of new posters and I attribute that to the free speech on the forum.
