Apparently they do or Clinton never would have gotten a second term, in fact, if economy had been better, he never would have gotten a first term. James Carville kep reminding Clinton, "It's the economy, Stupid."

Economic models indicate Trump on track to win re-election in 'landslide': report

No surprise. I said this as early as a year ago he would win in Reagan 1984 fashion.

Not going to happen. Trump will likely lose his re-election bid. In 2000, the economy was good so Gore should have won in a landslide. The fact is that unemployment was down when Trump took office. There is no evidence any of this has anything to do with Trump. If so then Republicans would have retained the House. Voters have serious concerns about issues such as healthcare in this country.

Actually, the dot.com crash occurred in March and by November a whole generation of Americans was watching their retire savings vanishing. Add to this that Gore had absolutely no charisma and it is easy to see how Bush overcame Gore's large early lead. Whether you agree or not, the polls show the majority of Americans give Trump credit for the economy and it will be very difficult for any of the prospective Democratic candidates to even make a contest out of it.

Actually if you read it,the entire thing DOES take into account his supposed popularity rating.

Voters oppose Trump on a broad range of issues. The number 1 issue in 2018 was healthcare and voters overwhelmingly trust Democrats on the issue. There are a number of issues Democrats could run on.

Actually, there aren't because the Democrats have no solutions to any of the problems voters care about. Barring a crisis, the most important issues to voters on election day are the ones that effect them directly and the economy is always the most important of these.

Come 2020 we will be in a recession....trump of course will blame it on the feds, Obama. Rosie O'donnel and Mccain.
If the Russians dont intervene trump will be crushed.
